My Interview With Kermit & Miss Piggy! Count Down to Muppets! #Muppet #Movies #MuppetMonday

Hey All!

It’s 16 days until the Muppets Movie! The count down has begun! Muppet Mania is upon us! As you know I recently had the super AMAZING opportunity to personally interview Kermit and Miss Piggy.

I was part of the most amazing Disney Blogger event for the Muppets and Real Steel with a number of other amazing bloggers. Some of which are participating in Muppets Mondays along with me! We went over to the famed and historic Jim Henson studios and I chatted with Kermit and Miss Piggy about their new movie, the Muppet Show, kids, the Muppets Make Up Palette, and then some!

Here is some of the interview below! I also interviewed Jason Segel and some of the Film makers from the Movie and I will share those with you though out the week!

Q: How was it working at the French Vogue?

Miss Piggy:Ā I did not really work there.Ā  This is a movie weā€™re talking about. You all know that, right?Ā  It was, it was lovely. It was lovely. I wish weā€™d actually shot on location.Ā  Paris, ā€” we shot here in the back lot.

Q:Ā How was it wearing all those designersā€™ clothes?

Miss Piggy: Those are real and itā€™s wonderful, itā€™s fabulous. I love to do free clothes from, from fashion designers.

Kermit:Ā  How do you get free clothes? I donā€™t have a lot of experience with clothes.

Q:Ā I think weā€™re noticing a big diamond ring on your finger.Ā  Is there any announcements or anything?

Miss Piggy: No
Kermit:Ā It just means sheā€™s been eating more cracker jacks.

Q:So what were you doing all these years before you started production on this last movie?

Kermit:Ā Oh, lots of stuff.Ā  You know, itā€™s been, itā€™s been quite a few years since weā€™ve done a big movie. You know, we havenā€™t done that in a long time but, uh, weā€™ve done lots of other stuff that we can talk about.Ā  We just thought we were trying to come back to the big screen.Ā We did a bunch of viral videos over the last couple of years.Ā  We did the Bohemian Rhapsody so weā€™ve been together.

Q: Do you find itā€™s easier to be green now?

Kermit:Ā I think so.Ā  Itā€™s taken on all these new meanings.Ā  When I said that originally, when I sang that song it was about being accepted in the world and these days itā€™s a lot more about the environment I think, you know.Ā  People are kind of taking it to mean that.Ā  But, uh, I think itā€™s just about being comfortable in your own skin.

Miss Piggy:Ā I love that so much.Ā  When you sing that. It makes me a tear up a little bit because I know it must have been hard for you being accepted in the world as a frog.

Kermit:Ā It can be tough especially in Hollywood so you have to make your place in the film industry.

Miss Piggy:Ā But you did that.
Kermit: I did.

Q:Ā When did you know it was love at first sight?

Miss Piggy:Ā I think it was at first sight. Ā We actually met on the Muppet Show.

Kermit :Ā Ā Ā Ā  Thatā€™s true. Piggy was a, was a chorus bit. She was a singing, dancing chorus bit and she sort of stood out from the rest, you know.

Q: Do you have any message for children?

Kermit:Ā I, I, I, I love kids and theyā€™ve been such a huge part of my life and my success all the way from the Sesame Street days, you know.Ā  And, uh, again I love the idea of kids being kids, you know, and adults being kids too sometimes, you know.Ā  Take care of them, nurture them.

Miss Piggy:Ā Kids need to play. They need to go outside and play and run and jump and skip and have fun.

Q : Itā€™s not green? I thought it would be green. Youā€™re so glamorous and you have such great makeup. Do you have a Muppets makeup palette?

(I handed Miss Piggy My Muppets Make up pallete)

KERMIT : A Muppet what?

Q: It’s a Muppetā€™s makeup palette.

KERMIT : Oh, my goodness.

MISS PIGGY : Are you trying to sell me something?

Q: This is your Muppets makeup palette.

KERMIT : Which one of you is the touchup person?

MISS PIGGY : Thatā€™s nice.

KERMIT : Is this like a free gift? With your Estee Lauder purchase?

MISS PIGGY : Is this real makeup?

Q : Yes. (I open it up for them)

KERMIT : My colorā€™s not up here. Oddly, thereā€™s no Kermit green. I donā€™t wear a lot of makeup. No, I usually take the shine off. I tend to be moist. I have to take the shine off.

Q : Have you ever thought of another shot at a Muppets Show on TV?

KERMIT : Well, sure, sure.

MISS PIGGY : I would love that. We should do that, Kermit.
KERMIT : I think it would be fun. I think we should, uh, I think we should look into that. I think it depends on what you all write about the movie. If you help us fill the theatre seats thereā€™s a hope for that, you know. I think that would be fun. You know, maybe, maybe a few more films. I think if we do it, we should do it pretty much like the other one, donā€™t you? Red theatre. Itā€™s good to take a poll here, you know.Ā  Okay, Iā€™m doing all right with that. Yes, Iā€™ve kind of got that triple thing going a little bit better. A little more picking these days. Although not in the movie, but, uh, yeah, the old five string, you know, flats and screens. Sure, sure. I still have my original banjo from that first movie. In fact, thatā€™s the one I used in this film. Thereā€™s only one banjo that size.

Q: How do you stay so beautiful after all these years in Hollywood?

KERMIT: You just made a new friend.

MISS PIGGY: Well, uh, I think, uh, I think it all can be accounted to love. I have so much love in my life. Yes, it just washes away.

Q : A lot of us have sites that are geared around children. Do you have any messages for, you know, children?

KERMIT : Well, thatā€™s a big responsibility.
MISS PIGGY : You are a big responsibility.
KERMIT : Yeah, Iā€™ve heard.

MISS PIGGY : To make the journey together.

KERMIT : I think, uh, I think itā€™s important to let kids be kids. Thatā€™s important and, uh, and, uh, and try to do that when we get to be our age too, you know. Kids donā€™t understand that.

MISS PIGGY : Kids need to play. They need to go outside and play and run and jump and skip and have fun.

KERMIT : You know a lot about this.

MISS PIGGY : Oh, well.

KERMIT : Really? Okay, well Iā€™ll take that under advice.Ā  I, I, I, I love kids and theyā€™ve been such a huge part of my life and my success all the way from the Sesame Street days, you know. And, uh, again I love the idea of kids being kids, you know, and adults being kids too sometimes, you know. Take care of them, nurture them.

They were amazing to interview and I can go on and on about how amazing this was but it would be the longest post ever. Yep that’s me in the middle in the Kermit hat and Muppets shirt and Jason Segel is holding my Kermit doll!

I can’t thank Disney enough for thinking of me Last minute and inviting me along for this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and interview the Muppets. It was a dream com true for me.Ā  Next up is my interview Jason Segel and some of the film makers.

Stay Tuned!
