Hey All!

I was invited a few weeks ago to meet with McDonaldā€™s as they wanted to treat me to breakfast and discuss their new healthier options and recently launched Egg White Delight McMuffin.Ā  This is a twist on the classic Egg McMuffin and is only 250 calories. The Egg White Delight McMuffin features freshly grilled 100% egg whites, extra lean Canadian bacon and white cheddar on a new muffin made with eight grams of whole grain.

I have to say I really enjoyed the Egg White Delight Mc Muffin. I’m not one to eat Egg McMuffin’s regularly, so I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed this. I’m more of a hotcakes and hashbrown kind of gal.

The Egg White Delight McMuffin helps customers incorporate foods from some of the USDAā€™s MyPlate recommended food groups and supports McDonaldā€™s ā€œCommitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choices,ā€ announced in 2011. It is McDonaldā€™s newest breakfast choice under 300 calories in addition to the Egg McMuffin, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and Fruit Nā€™ Yogurt Parfait.

We met with the Owner of the Mc Donald’s we met at Steve Ho, their Store Manager Keila Espinozo, and Supervisor Ted Panopio. We got a tour of their kitchen and saw how everything was made.

It was a very unique experience to see how quickly they work and to actually see what is going into their food. The Owner was so delightful and was such a nice and funny guy. He truly loves his business and the food he is serving to his customers. They truly want to serve only the freshest ingredients and they showed us how they are trying to stick to the USDAā€™s MyPlate recommended food groups and standards. It’s great to learn that they have granolas, fresh fruit, parfaits and the Egg White Delight McMuffin to provide customers with healthier options to eat.

It was a great experience.
