Our Day One Adventure At San Diego Comic Con 2015!

Hey All!

My adventure on to the Hall H Line Begins once again today! If I’m lucky I’ll be sleeping on the floor under one of those white tents you see above. I’m never that lucky so I’ll probably be sleeping on the side walk further down the block closer to the boat docks. I don’t care where I sleep as I have to get in to see the Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Star Wars Panels on Friday if it kills me. This is probably going to be the Hall H line to end all Hall H lines. I’ve survived before and I’ll survive again. That’s the price you have to pay if you want to have any chance to get into Hall H! One does not just walk into Hall H! I got t-shirts made that say this just fyi.

We’re going to wear them as we camp out. We’re going to start our day with some breakfast thanks to the fun folks at Hasbro. Last year was Transformers themed but this year is going to be epic with all kinds of toys including the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys! I can’t wait to check them out.

After breakfast we’re going to try to get some of the exclusives we didn’t get on preview night. Then we’ll pick up some amazing Comic Con themed donuts at Donut Bar!

These were some of the ones we got last year and they really are the best donuts ever!

I can’t wait to see what they make this year!

Then it’s off to get in line for Hall H for Friday. I’ll be leaving the line to go to the Her Universe fashion show since it really was the highlight of my Comic Con last year.

The Her Universe Fashion Show is hosted by actress and Her Universe Founder Ashley Eckstein. It returns to San Diego Comic-Con 2015 with an all new group of aspiring designers. This year, 25 finalists will present their original “geek couture” designs in the runway show to compete for the opportunity to design a limited edition fandom collection with Her Universe for leading specialty retailer Hot Topic. The 2nd annual Her Universe Fashion Show will take place on Thursday, July 9th at 6pm at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego.

The Her Universe Fashion Show is the brainchild of actress Ashley Eckstein. The event not only aims to spotlight fangirl culture but to also support aspiring designers by providing them with a real runway to showcase their one-of-a-kind designs to the world. Two winners – one chosen by the audience and one chosen by a panel of judges, will be awarded the unique professional experience of co-designing a fashion line for Hot Topic retail stores. Guest judges joining the Her Universe 2015 Fashion Show panel include Hot Topic’s SVP of Merchandising and Marketing, Cindy Levitt; singer/songwriter, voice actress and designer, Traci Hines; Manager of Licensing and Merchandising at Sony Pictures Television, Jessica Nubel; and winners from last year’s fashion show, Amy Beth Christenson and Andrew MacLaine. This year, Andrew MacLaine will be designing the on-stage “geek couture” gowns for host Ashley Eckstein. Actress Ashley Tisdale’s company, Blondie Girl Productions, joins the Her Universe 2015 Fashion Show as a production partner. VP Production and Development of Blondie Girl Productions, Jennifer Tisdale, along with announcer Heath Hyche, will be handling backstage coverage, in addition to contributing as audience commentators. Espionage Cosmetics returns as the hair and make-up sponsors for this year’s event.

The 25 talented designers competing in this year’s fashion show come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. They’ll be creating women’s fashion looks based on anything that is celebrated at Comic-Con, original or inspired by popular media. The finalists are:Lauren Andrews, Ericka Angiuli, Kelly Cercone, Laura Desch, Daisy Evans, Jessica Gonzalez, Lindsay Hamilton, Kathryn Henzler, Sarah Henzler, Hannah Kent, Kristin Koga, Harmony Leiker, Belinda Mendoza, Jennifer Newman, Emily Ong, Laura Cristina Ortiz, Leetal Platt, Tara Reich, Adria Sanchez-Chaidez, Amy Scott, Kristi Siedow-Thompson, Sam Skyler, Jesse Thaxton, Oseas Villatoro, and Erica Williams.

Last year this Back to the Future themed outfit blew my mind! I seriously still want this outfit.

I loved seeing all the geek fashions work the run way.

I seriously can’t wait to see what is in store this year!

I’ll also have to stop by the Her Universe booth to get this Iron Man cap-sleeve dress! It looks like his armor and it glows-in-the-dark!

I also need this Avengers pop color skirt and adorable matching shirt as well! This striking Her Universe black and white stylish top has a subtle nod to everyone’s favorite superhero group and their famous phrase. Embroidered on the collar is the famous Avengers symbol followed by the line ASSEMBLE – put them together and you have AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! GOTTA HAVE IT!

After that it’s back to the line again where I’ll spend the whole night until probably 7 am when they move us into Hall H.

I’m sure it will be worth it for all the epic geek info we’ll get for Star Wars and The Walking Dead in particular. We’re huge fans in case you couldn’t tell?

Are you at Comic Con this year? If so say hi!

I’m not a huge sci-fi or comic fan but would love to attend Comic Con someday. Looks like there’s so much interesting stuff to see and do.
