Our Review of Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted! #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

Hey All!

I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend the premiere of Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted as you all know. The film was so much fun to watch. I not only got to see a Muppet Movie, but there was a Disney Pixar short for Monsters University called Party Central that was shown before the film. It’s a hilarious short that involves my favorite character from Monsters University Squishy’s Mom! The Monster Frat Boys are trying to throw their first frat party and they need a little help from mom to make it an awesome event. It’s a fun short you don’t want to miss before the new Muppet adventure.

The Muppets are at it again…again…in Muppets Most Wanted. This is latest sequel in a long line of Muppet movies. Spoiler Alert! This film picks up where the last Muppets film left off literally. I mean after the big finale of the last film, this one begins with a song and dance number about a sequel just because of the success of the last film.

Director James Bobin returns this time as both director and co-writer with Nicholas Stoller. Also returning is now Oscar Winning song writer Bret McKenzie. McKenzie delivers the fun music again with memorable numbers like “I’m Number One” and my personal favorite “I’ll Get You What You Want.” I seriously can’t get “I’ll Get You What You Want” out of my head. I’ve even decided to make it our first dance song at our Muppet/Star Wars Wedding. I digress…

Of course ALL of the Muppets are back, including their newest addition Walter. Joining the Muppet ensemble as a villain is the most dangerous frog in the world Constantine. And with the exception of a small black mole, Constantine is a dead ringer for Kermit.

After the first song and dance number “We’re Doing a Sequel,” The Muppets meet with Dominic Badguy who convinces them that a World Tour of The Muppet Show will capitalize on their fame. Meanwhile the most dangerous frog in the world, Constantine escapes from a Russian prison in the most spectacular Muppet action sequence I have ever seen. During the tour Constantine trades places with Kermit and throws the whole Muppet crew into chaos. Constantine is my new favorite Muppet. He’s bad to the bone and I like it!

At the same time Kermit is mistaken for Constantine and is forced to his own skills to survive in the Russian prison. He has some pretty amazing cell block neighbors as you will see when you watch the film.

The film borrows elements from previous Muppet movies in creative ways, but that’s just one part of the charm of the Muppets. In every production they never take themselves seriously and I love them for it. The other part that makes a Muppet Movie so much fun are the celebrity cameos! This film has celebrities galore. Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey have key roles in this film, but some of the fun of a Muppet movie is seeing who they got to do cameos. You’ll have to see the film to see just how many cameos they have in this film.

It’s a Muppet movie you don’t want to miss. If you love the Muppets (like I do) you will love this movie. If you are not a fan of the Muppets (I don’t even know why anyone would not be a fan of the Muppets) do yourself a favor and go see the film so you will be a fan. That’s just crazy talk not being a fan of the Muppets. Anyone who sees Muppets Most Wanted will enjoy the film.
