Everyone knows how much I sometimes love to go all out for our family dinners. I’m the hostess with the mostess even on a normal day where I’m just making dinner at home for me and the family. I don’t know why I decorate and make our meals look so pretty, but I’ve always done it this way. I’ve found that the extra effort is always appreciated and everyone is always extra excited to eat their meals when I do it this way. I don’t accomplish this every day, but when I do it’s awesome. Most recently during our pasta night and it was Saucesome! We made pasta with our favorite sauces which included Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce and Ragú® Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion Sauce. Not every meal I make has to look as elaborate as this does:
Sometimes is great to go smaller and just have some bowls of pasta (small sea shell pasta to be exact as the family calls it) and our favorite sauce paired with some garlic bread. We can just sit around the table and catch up and be silly. For example we like to play a game we’ve invited with out pasta that does make a bit of a mess sometimes when we play. It’s become a family tradition to play this game every time we have pasta.
To play you pour your pasta sauce onto your pasta and mix it around well. You then see the shells that are filled with the most pasta sauce inside of them and press them down with your fork gently. If it’s done to hard pasta sauce pops up every where. It has happened trust me. The sauce pours out of the shell when you press on it. The person who has the most sauce pour out wins. It’s not an elaborate game, but it’s our family game and we love it. It’s our thing and it’s saucesome! It’s so saucesome since it even includes sauce and I even leave the sauce on the table when we eat in case anyone wants to add any more sauce to their pasta to win the pasta sauce challenge we play.
I still set out the nice napkins and dishes for any dinner we have as a family (which is always appreciated).
We always have fun with whatever dinner we have, but I do find their is one night that is enjoyed above the rest and that is our pasta night. I really feel we have such fun with our sauce and the laughter that erupts from the game makes it a little more special than the rest. Sometimes I add a glass of wine to my dinner to celebrate another saucesome pasta night!
