Our Thoughts On Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation!

Hey All!

Last week I had the fantastic opportunity to be sponsored by SocialMoms to check out the fantastic new soon to be released film Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. Yes folks, believe it or not women love action movies. Especially moms! It was a fabulous and much needed #Mompossible day out at the IMAX headquarters to see the film. This latest installment of the franchise of course stars Tom Cruise as super spy Ethan Hunt. What spy is worth anything without their team? Returning to the team is Jeremy Renner (Avengers Age of Ultron), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), and Mission: Impossible alum Ving Rhames. Joining the cast is Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) and Rebecca Fergusson (Hercules 2014).  It’s directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher).

The Mission: Impossible films have been around for 20 years. The great thing about these blockbuster films is they keep getting better and better each time. This film adds Rebecca Ferguson as a British intelligence spy and she truly showcases how the ladies can be awesome action heroes just like the men in the film.

One thing I truly love about Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation is the action sequences. They look incredibly real because they are real! The action is shot practically rather than using digital effects. Tom Cruise has been a champion for practical effects and doing his own stunts for several years now. While many actors also try doing their own stunts nowadays, Mr. Cruise takes it to the next level. The best example of this takes in the film where Ethan Hunt is hanging from the side of a plane as it is taking flight (as seen in the trailers). This kind of scene is usually done with green screen; not in this movie. THAT IS TOM CRUISE HANGING FROM THE SIDE OF A PLANE AS IT IS TAKING OFF! I think it is safe to say you will not find that commitment to realism from any other Hollywood movie star.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation’s plot involves the IMF Group being shut down by the government because they are never held accountable for their actions due to their anonymity.  At the same time group called “The Syndicate” is adamant about causing mayhem through out the world. Ethan and his team (who are all now wanted by the CIA) are the only ones who can stop him. Seeing the action packed adventure the team is lead on through out the film is great fun for all he see it.

This movie has parkour, car chases, motorcycle chases, jumping onto moving planes, hand to hand combat, and an amazing woman who kicks butt! It is a summer popcorn film that follows in the Mission: Impossible tradition, but makes it a unique story that involves a woman playing a key role in helping to save the world. Moms who are fans of the franchise and Tom Cruise will really enjoy Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation.

It’s the perfect film to take your girlfriends to see for a mom’s day out! Have yourself your own little #MomPossible mission to see this movie! When things seem like they are going to be impossible at home with the family, it’s always great to know that it’s possible to get through it and get to that important mom-ME time.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation is in theaters Friday July 31st! Get tickets at Fandango.
