Hey All!

I know there are big expectations for Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse. Some think the first film was perfection and that there would be no way to top it. Well I’m happy to report that not only did they top it, they took it ten steps further. The thought and dedication that went into this film show in every frame. Dare I say I liked this movie better than the first one. Sacrilege to say out loud I know! I don’t take saying that lightly, as I LOVED the first film. If there is one movie to see this year, it’s this movie.

Miles Morales as Spider-Man

This film follows Miles Morales as he reunites with Gwen Stacy and is catapulted across the Multiverse. There he encounters the Spider Society led by the half-Irish and half-Mexican Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) and a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when Miles clashes with Miguel, he finds himself pitted against the ALL the other Spiders of the multiverse. And I’m talking ALL! I need to freeze-frame this movie shot by shot to see just how many Spiders are in this movie! Miles must then set out on his own to save those he loves most.

Spider-Man (Shameik Moore) and Spider-Gwen

Along with the incredible action and story, this film is a wonderful reflection of family, friendship & grief. The score and original music in the film is phenomenal and will leave you wanting to download the soundtrack as soon as you leave the theater. The animation is once again jaw dropping. It’s nothing like anything you’d see any place else.

I will also say, as a Puerto Rican and Cuban born and raise in NYC, I sobbed watching this movie. This film is not only an incredible achievement in story & animation, It’s a cultural experience that will make every Puerto Rican teary eyed & filled with pride! I shed tears every time I saw that PR flag pop up on the big screen!

It delivers in every way possible and is incredible from start to finish. If you were a fan of the first film, I guarantee you will love this film just as much as you loved the first. Puerto Rican Spider-Man is here to stay and I’m living for it!

I pray everyone, Latinos in particular, come out hard to support this film. It’s not every day we have such incredible representation of not only Puerto Ricans, but of Latin culture on the big screen. It features all the Latinos who live in his neighborhood as well. It’s not every day we have a Spanish speaking superhero on the big screen. Let’s show Hollywood we need more of this by making this movie huge! We need to break box office records and this movie is soooo good it actually deserves it!

Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse is playing now in select theaters for early preview screenings, but it will be in theaters every where June 2nd!
