Taking Time For Myself With The New Flow Book!

Hey All!

Running my own business and household can become very stressful on a daily basis. I have a tendency to burn myself out quickly by trying to do everything to perfection. This year, I decided I’m done with perfection and I’m going to take some time to myself to make sure I take in a spot of tea, decompress and self reflect. I’ve been doing this by keeping a journal, trying to learn something new every month, and by taking some much needed me time to do something I love. For example, I love to write cards and postcards to friends friends via mail and crafting little projects for myself. I was thrilled to get the opportunity to partner with Workman Publishing on their first big book from Flow, the groundbreaking international magazine. Flow is unique for a magazine in how it mixes articles, inspiring quotes, and what the editors call ā€œgoodiesā€ā€”bound-in cards, mini-journals, stickers, posters, blank papers for collaging, and more! The magazine has a distinct handcrafted and collectible feeling and so does their amazing new book. The new book is called A Book That Takes Its Time and it essentially combines everything I love to do into one book!

You can personalize the book like a journal, as you can see below.

A Book That Takes Its Time is both a book about mindfulness and a book that literally inspires mindfulness. Itā€™s like a meditation retreat between two covers! Our mantra is to celebrate the every day and to live the most brite & bubbly life possible and this book aligns with my thought process perfectly! It has fun DIY activities through out the book to help you reflect, like these adorable notecards to create your own beautiful moments jar.

Each little card has an adorable illustration on it. You write down onto the note cards a positive moment from your day that stood out and was meaningful to you.

You drop the little card into a jar and pull it out every now and then the revisit the moment and reflect on something fun and positive in your life.

I recently got some amazing and encouraging feedback on one of our Halloween DIY’s from our readers and I immediately wanted to write it down and drop it into my jar to remember. I found the perfect little card to write on, which had a little tablet illustration on it. It felt like the perfect card to represent my blog. Doing this small task has helped me immensely when I’m feeling hard on myself sometimes. Looking at the notes truly brightens my day!

As I mentioned earlier, I love to sit down and write to my friends who live on the east coast. This book has an amazing assortment of little post cards that you can use to send some snail mail.

You simply cut them out along the perforated edges, write out your message to whomever you’re mailing it to, add a stamp and send it off.

I love the little positive messages on each little post card. They are sure to bring lots of smiles to my friends faces. It relaxes me so much to just sit down and write out these meaningful little cards to my friends.

The book also has little fun collectable crafts like these poetry pictures. They are a Dutch tradition where children collected these fun punch out images.

I had never heard of these before, but they are so cute and fun to have. They have a variety of little illustrations ranging from adorable ice cream cones to cute little dogs.

I love the little dog illustrations the best! You can punch them out and save them in the little envelope they come in.

My favorite aspect of the book is the mini-course in mindful analysis.

It comes with a 30 day notebook, so you can do the mini course with ease for a month.

It allows you to really sit down and self reflect on yourself and what you can do to improve yourself in any way you feel you need to improve. It truly helps you to be more mindful of yourself and to those around you.

There is so much I love about the book, that I could go on and on about it. You’ll just have to pick up your own copy of the book and check out everything inside.

Every page is filled with something amazing to learn or do. The back cover even has these adorable note cards to write down what you’ve taken away from the book after having read and used it.

I’m obsessed with this book and I learned everything from hand-lettering to how to meditate while running. Thereā€™s never been a book like A Book That Takes Its Time! It’s a book that mixes reading and doing, to help you live a more thoughtful life and have so much fun in the process.

If you’re looking for an amazing book that allows you to get crafty and teaches you to live a more thoughtful and relaxed life, A Book That Takes Its Time is the book for you!
