Hey All!
With Father’s Day around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about my Dad and how he’s inspired me to be the bold person I am today. I’m not going to lie and say I’ve had the perfect relationship with my father, but through the ups and downs he’s always been there. He’s always accomplished everything he’s wanted to accomplish in his life and to me that is the epitome of being bold. Not letting anyone tell you what you can and can not do. My Dad was born in Cuba and fled the country when communism began. He’s been a citizen of the USA since he was 2 years old. To know that he basically came here with nothing as a child and worked hard to have a family and career was enough to inspire me to do work just as hard for the same.
I don’t think I would have been as fearless as I was as a kid, if I didn’t have examples like my Dad in my life to show me that it was OK to be bold and go after your dreams. I never was afraid to try or do anything I dreamed of doing. Whether it was putting on a show or working my way into a great college like NYU. I’ve always been bold enough to try and do anything I put my mind to.
I think that’s what I love about my hubby as well. He’s another bold man and dad in my life. He’s always there for me when I need him and he’s my constant source of support and encouragement. He’s not afraid of a strong willed woman and he’s also not afraid to show his feminine side. When a man is secure and confident in himself and he’s not afraid or intimidated by a woman, that’s a bold man in my opinion. He is all of this and then some and he’s very proud to show off these qualities. He’s not afraid of being bold and he loves me because I’m the same way.
My hubby and dad continue to show me how to be bold every day. I’m always busy with the blog and my hubby or dad are always encouraging me to reach for bigger and better things. It’s so great to have men in my life who think it’s awesome for a woman to go after her dreams. The one thing they always remind me to do is to stop and take better care of myself. I can get very busy with work and I forget to take some me time to pamper myself. I have to remind myself make sure I’m taking care of myself and my smile in particular. I go to so many events and photos are always taken that I need to make sure I look good for photos at all times. The one thing I always make sure it looking good is my smile.
I’m anal with my smile, so I always take the time to brush and use my LISTERINE® mouth wash. It embodies the bold in my life, because with a great smile I feel confident and bold! I actually got this habit of being anal with my teeth and smile from my dad, hence why I’m going to send him a little LISTERINE® gift for Father’s Day this year. He’ll be sure to love it as he loves the brand as much as I do!
I wouldn’t be who I am today with out the bold inspiration of my Dad, the support of my amazing husband and family, and the fearlessness that comes with being bold.
