Hey All!

The last time I went to Alaska I was about 4 years old. I remember it was beautiful and my uncle who used to live there owned a half husky half wolf dog for a pet. It was huge and it used to carry me around like a pup. I called her Nanah and she guarded me with the baby sitter when my family was out. I’ve always wanted to go back since I’ve always had such fond memories of Alaska.

It’s such a relaxing and laid back place to go. It’s one of the few places on earth that has tons of natural life still surrounding it. It feels like the perfect place to get away and unplug. I’ve been looking into flights and resorts. One of the resorts I’ve been considering is The Waterfall Resort and the Steamboat Bay Fishing Club. This resort provides a great opportunity for a relaxing getaway, all while pursuing a love of the outdoors and fishing. They are both all inclusive resorts which is fantastic. I firmly think you end up saving money when you go to all inclusive resorts. The Waterfall Resort has the accommodations to host groups with up to 92 guests. The resortā€™s executive chef delivers three full meals a day. This makes it feel very intimate when you stay at a resort that has under 100 guests.

The Steamboat Bay Fishing Club offers exclusivity with its 16 guest maximum accommodations. Ocean front rooms have their own wood burning stoves and expansive decks with scenic views. The guided fishing boats are heated 25ā€™ cabin cruisers fully equipped for crabbing and shrimping. Amenities include a sauna, hot tub, kayaks, wi-fi, and a club room with pool tables, cards and a big screen TV. The Steamboat Bay chef prepares each meal to guestsā€™ preferences. Guests can interact with the chef in the resorts presentation kitchen. I would love that as I love to ask recipe questions to Chefs.

Both resorts are on the site of a record-breaking seafood cannery near some of the best fishing spots in Alaskaā€™s Inside Passage, one of the most famous fishing locations in the world. Guests can fish King Salmon (now at double the fishing limits than in years passed), Coho Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod, Red Snapper, Black Bass and Rock Fish. Both provide an on-site Alaska Airlines agent to check in all fish that guests bring home. A ground crew in Ketchikan International Airport helps guests travel to and from the resort. Crewmembers at each resort have over 30 years of fishing experience and keep tabs on where fish are biting for optimum catching. The resorts also provide rods, reels, tackle, bait, and all-weather gear. It truly is all inclusive!

I’m not an avid fisher, but I’ve always wanted to get out there and catch some fish. Knowing that this resort offers everything you need to fish is fantastic. The resort seems like the perfect place to get away and unplug from the daily grind of work and constantly being connected to the internet. Getting to just spend some time out doors in nature and enjoying the beautiful surroundings makes for the perfect place to visit in Alaska. The food and fish also sound amazing!

I can’t wait to get back to Alaska!
