We recently had the amazing opportunity to attend a special screening of the new Smurfs 2 film and attend a special party to celebrate the film thanks to Sony Pictures. I have to say the Smurfs are back and they are more adorable than ever. And this time they have some cute competition from the Naughties!
In this sequel to the hybrid live action/animated family blockbuster comedy The Smurfs, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world’s greatest sorcerer.
It’s up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue? Returning cast includes Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Katy Perry as Smurfette and Hank Azaria as Gargamel. Brendan Gleeson joins the cast as Victor Winslow.
I have to say seeing Gargamel become almost like a David Copperfield of today was fantastic and exactly what he would be if he were casting magic in the real world. I love that all the cast from the 1st movie is back and I love that this movie is centered around Smurfette and her struggle to belong and stay a good Smurf.
This film has a great message for kids to learn what’s right from wrong and the special effects mixed with live action is the perfect blend of magic and realism.
It’s a great and extremely sweet movie that is perfect for the whole family!
I highly recommend it so you could have a smurftastic good time!

This looks so fun! I can’t wait to see it!
I would need to finish the first one before I saw the 2nd. We went to the movies to see it and the lights went out and we had to leave (transformer blew). We have it on DVD but we have never sat down to watch the rest.
The boys are really looking forward to this.
We went and saw it a few days ago. I thought it was pretty good though I definitely preferred the first one. I loved the new sister and brother they got.
My kids can’t wait to see this!
