Hey All!

Paramount Pictures presents Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows; the sequel to the 2014 box office hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The live action returning cast includes Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Will Arnet as Vernon and Laura Linney as Police Chief Vincent. Joining the live action cast is Arrow’s Stephen Amell as fan favorite Casey Jones and Tyler Perry (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) as Baxter Stockman. Returning voice cast includes Tony Shaloub (Monk) as Splinter, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, and Alan Ritchson as Raphael. Leonardo this time around is voiced by Pete Ploszek who was the mo-cap performer in the last film. Also joining the voice cast are WWE professional wrestler Stephen Farrelly as Rocksteady and Gary Williams (The Boondocks) as Bebop.

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return and are aided not only by their long-time friend April O’Neil, but are also joined by Casey Jones, the hockey-masked vigilante new comer. After The Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop and Rocksteady, to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.

The newest films in the TMNT franchise are more in line with animated series that grew to immense heights of popularity in the 80’s and 90’s. As such, the introduction of popular characters from the series like Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, and even Krang should make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turttes Out of the Shadows a fun trip down memory lane for old fans and something new and exciting for newer younger fans. Don’t go into this film expecting ponderings of deep moral issues, go in ready to be a kid and just enjoy popcorn adventure and the “heroes in a half shell.”

The film is rated PG-13 but neither the action sequences nor the language are inappropriate for children. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows is definitely fun for the whole family.
