Hey All!
How was your weekend? Mine was super busy as usual. We’re a busy family that’s always on the go, So we’re always doing something. Whether I’m doing something for the blog, which means working on the weekends or we’re doing something for the family like attending one of the kidlets baseball or soccer games, or making some holiday themed treats for the kidlets classmates. I was slaving away this weekend making a tasty St. Patrick’s Day treat for the kids to take to school today!
There is always something going on during the weekend for us. It’s pretty typical. I often wish I could just have a relaxing weekend where we do absolutely nothing, but those are few and far between.
Since there is always so much going on during the weekends, I’m always looking for shortcuts and time saving tips I can use to keep up with my “on-the-go” family. Here are my top 5 tips that you can use to keep up with your “on-the-go” family during the weekend rush.
1. Keep a Calendar of all your upcoming events! I usually do this during the evenings on the weekend. I plan out for months. This should be a no brainer and most of you should be doing this already! Knowing what’s to come in the month will allow you to plan for those events ahead of time so you’re always ready to be on the go when the time comes.
2. Plan outfits ahead of time. When I do laundry on the weekends I always match up outfits for myself and the family and hang them in our closets that way. So when everyone opens their closet they don’t even have to spend time figuring out what to wear.
3. Make sure the kids homework is done by Friday so they don’t have to waste time on the weekend trying to do homework due on Monday.
4. Make meals ahead of time! On the weekends I often spend time cooking meals for the week and freeze them so they can easily be defrosted by the family when I’m out working.
5. Pack some amazing snacks for your family ahead of time for the weekend. It will save you time and money when your running around for the weekend with your family. You don’t want to buy those pricey theme park snacks if you’re heading to a theme park for the weekend. They definitely come in handy when you’re on the go.
I’m looking forward to packing and trying some Honey Maid Go Bites as a snack for my family as we love Honey Maid products. They seem like they’d be the perfect treat to pack as a snack. I can’t wait to get my hands on a box of these. Stay tuned as we will soon!

Those sound delicious! I need those for our upcoming road trip 🙂
I have not been able to try them yet, but they do look pretty good. The kids are big graham cracker fans.

This is a great sounding snack! We are always on the go and looking for new and easy snack ideas! I love it!
These are all great tips and I am very proud to say I do some of these already. Right now I keep our family schedule on my phone’s calendar, but I am going to consider getting an actual dry erase version so we can all keep track of our plans.
Great to have a delicious snack on the go! My kids are older now so they fend for themselves 🙂
Planning outfits has been something I have been doing since I was younger. It is really helpful.
I haven’t tried these yet, but I think they would be great as an after gymnastics snack. My daughter is always so hungry after her practices!
I spend so much less time getting out the door & off having fun if I do a little bit of planning. These are great ideas.
Good tips. Calendars always help. Love their new bites also.
The Honey Maid bites look incredible, we haven’t tried them yet. And I love matching outfits ahead of time, it cuts down on the morning drama before school!
I have seen the Honey Maid Go Bites but I haven’t tried them. They look like a great snack.
Making meals ahead of time is the key to making my busy schedule work. That and using every single moment for something. No down time in this house!
Mmm, my boys love those snacks! We’re always on the go, too. A schedule helps us so much!
These are great tips to help families stay organized. Meal planning and food prep is a huge time and money-saver for us.
These are really great tips. I will have to try matching up my outfits when i am putting my laundry away. Great time saver.
Those look like Lucky Charms…I’ve always wondered why they don’t sell just the marshmallows. The Honey Maid Go bites look yummy too. Great tips.
Those Honey Maids look good. I laughed at the bowl, my son just got reprimanded for eating just marshmallows from the dry cereal box. 😉
Great tips. I always make my daughter do her homework and reading immediately after school. Otherwise she brings it out at breakfast before school starts. I’m ways too busy to help her then.
My son would love those Honey Maid Go Bites! Actually, I think I would sneak a few too.
I always try to make sure that I have snacks with me when we’re out and about. I have snacks not only for the kids, but for me too – although I usually end up sharing them with them if they get hungry – lol!
We always carry snacks in the car when running errands. It seems as soon as we leave our house my daughter gets “I’m starving and will perish in one more minute” hungry.
What a great post! I feel like we can use lots of these tips!
Dawns family is also always on the go! Her big calendar in the kitchen is her lifeline. It keeps her on track!
My hubs and I started using a Google Calendar to keep track of everything, and it has already helped a ton!
