Treasuring Those Special Family Moments With Water!

Nestle Water

Hey All!

As time goes on and I get older, I find myself thinking more and more about our treasured moments as a family and why they are so meaningful. It’s easy to take those moments for granted as we often forget that our family doesn’t stay the same way forever. Kids grow up and move on to lead their own lives and parents have to hope they’ve taught their kids how to lead good and healthy lives. One thing I’ve always focused on was making sure we always drank enough water. I’ve never really allowed soda in our home and because of this we all never really developed a liking for it. The one problem we’ve always had is choosing water over juices. Water and Juice are the only drinks you’ll find in our refrigerator and sometimes it can be a battle to get kids to drink water instead of juice.

Apparently, I’m not alone in this struggle. In a 2015 survey conducted by Nestlé® Pure Life®, moms and kids revealed many surprising insights about their hydration habits. Drinking water is one of the biggest “healthy habit” struggles moms have with their kids (38%), even more than struggles like “eat your fruit” (29%), “get enough exercise (23%), “eat your breakfast” (19%), and “drink your milk” (18%). To overcome this challenge I make sure I’m always handing water over to my family to drink when we’re having fun. Water doesn’t have to be boring! It can be fun as it’s an essential part of life. These 2016 Nestlé® Pure Life® Share-a-Smile bottle label design collection make it even more fun, as they have cute colorful sayings on the bottle. They are adorable, kids love them, and they are small enough to keep in my purse whenever I need to hand one over for someone to drink. In 2017 they will have new designs, which you can learn about entering to get your child’s design on below.

This one you see below is my personal favorite.

I’ve never thought about how many fun memories we’ve shared together while drinking water, until now. It really does help provide the hydration my family needs to take on any fun activity we have planned for the day. Thanks to Nestlé® Pure Life® for encouraging me to take a step back to think about these wonderful memories.

Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water has always been committed to making water as healthy hydration convenient for families by offering a variety of pack sizes, bottles and designs – from kid-friendly 8oz bottles to 20oz bottles perfect for mom and dad. In 2014 bottled water volume sales in US supermarkets surpassed that of carbonated soft drinks, showing a shift of preference towards bottled water as opposed to beverages with added sugars.

Kids who drink 4+ glasses of water per day are more likely to frequently exhibit healthy habits, such as:

  • Getting their own water when thirsty
  • Eating their fruits and vegetables at meal times without reminders
  • Requesting healthy food and beverage options for school lunches

Nestlé® Pure Life® invites parents to have their children Draw What Makes Them Smile and enter their child’s design in the contest for a chance to have their child’s design included in the 2017 Share-a-Smile bottle label collection.
