I recently had the experience to attend the opening of Walgreens’ Amazing 8,000th store located in the World Famous Hollywood, California! It’s the first flagship store for Walgreens here on the West Coast and it’s by far the most fabulous Pharmacy I’ve ever stepped foot in!
It’s located on the corner of Sunset and Vine as you can see in the picture above!
This was a red carpet affair that Walgreens Pulled out all the stops for.
I had the amazing opportunity to meet the President of Walgreens, who also gave us a private tour of the unique store. He spoke to us about how the “Walgreens Flagship stores are unique in which they have exclusive products and services not found at your every day Pharmacy!” and how the company aims to be “America’s first choice for Pharmacies and health and wellness.”
At Walgreens you will find a State-of-the-Art Pharmacy that you won’t find any place else! You will find that the Pharmacist will actually come out from behind the counter to explain your medications to you as they want to build a line of communication with their customers at Walgreens. You can also get a number of services like immunizations, health tests, and you’ll even find an Express RX kiosks (which I love and you can see below) to help you get your prescriptions quickly when you’re on the go!
This is also the only Pharmacy that I’ve ever seen that essentially has it’s own fresh food shopping area! This is again unique to this store as it’s a Flagship store. Again you can only find these features at a Walgreens Flagship store!
At The Upmarket Cafe you can can get everything from delicious coffees, hand-rolled sushi, baked goods, and salads all prepared daily right in the store! Where else would you see sushi being made in a pharmacy?
You can also pick up 12 different flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt, complete with an entire toppings bar! It’s amazing and so delicious! You have to try the orange sorbet and vanilla as it tastes like a yummy creamsicle!
Another amazing feature of this Flagship store has to be The LOOK Boutique! It has to be my favorite part of the store as I love Make Up!
The Look Boutique is like swanky cosmetics store and salon in one! It’s so unique and it’s inside the Walgreens! It features so many High End brands that I love like The Balm (Who you all know I love since they made my Muppets Make Up Palette) and Cargo! These are brands you don’t usually see in a pharmacy! You’ll usually find them in a high end cosmetics store!
You can also find dozens of high-end brands that are exclusive to the Walgreens Look boutique like No. 7 and -417! You can even get your hair and your eyebrows done at the Eyebrow Bar and Hair Care area in the Look Boutique! What other pharmacy could you go in to looking to get your prescription and come out with a full on makeover! None! It’s so fabulous and such a unique and fabulous feature to these flagship stores!
Don’t worry…they also have a beautiful (Pun Intended) beauty section with all your favorite brands that you normally find in a drug store as well!
My last but not least favorite part of the store has to be the Liquor Section! No not because I like to get my drink on, but because it was gorgeous and similar to a high end wine store.
It also has one super amazing feature and that is the Virtual Bartender which will allow you to pick themes and flavors your interested in for your drinks and it will print out a drink recipe and all the liquors and products used in the drink. You can then buy everything you need to make the drink right then and there! It’s sooooo amazing! I’ve never even seen this in a liquor store and it’s such a helpful thing to have especially when you’re looking for the perfect drink for your upcoming Holiday dinner parties.
I can go on and on about how much I loved this Walgreens! I’m so honored to have been a part of the grand opening of this fabulous one of a kind pharmacy! Not only was it a celebration of such an amazing 8,000th store but it was also World Aids Day and Walgreens touched upon its commitment to treating and preventing HIV/AIDS in inner city areas! They also presented a $10,000 check donation to Charles Drew University for their HIV research and outreach with in high HIV/AIDS testing areas.
It was a fabulous and meaningful day for me and everyone in attendance! If you’re ever in the Los Angeles Hollywood California Area I highly recommend you check out the amazing 8,000th Walgreens Store! This flagship location is again located on the corner of Sunset and Vine and is a must visit if you’re in town!
