Who Doesn’t Love Some Good Rewards When You Travel?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Marriott Rewards Credit Card from Chase. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but I love to travel! Who doesn’t love to get out there and explore?! I do! I’m dying to take a trip to Europe. There is just something about seeing the world that has always appealed to me. It’s a great big world out there and I’ve honestly seen hardly any of it. I’ve been to London, Mexico, and all over America. I want to see more and travel more. Apparently this is not something that is just unique to me. Millennials (ages 18-34) like myself love to travel. Marriott Rewards Credit Card from Chase recently conducted a nationwide survey on travel preferences among folks ages 18 – 67 who stay in a hotel at least five nights per year for business, pleasure or both. They discovered some amazing results about millennials that I was very interested to learn about being that I am a millennial. I’m only 33 years young in case you were wondering! Here are some of the findings:

Did you know millennials love to travel with a purpose? 84% say they would travel abroad to participate in volunteer activities versus our older counterparts, Gen Xers (ages 35-49) and boomers (ages 50-67). We’re also thrill seekers! Millennial travelers seek thrilling adventures (78%) over lazy vacations abroad. For me personally, I like to have a little bit of both, as you do want some lazy days on a trip.

Of millennials seeking a thrilling vacation most are interested in water sports (67%), compared to Gen Xers (55%) and boomers (46%). Interacting with wild animals through amazing activities like safaris or swimming with sharks (63%) is also of interest to millennials who are seeking thrilling vacations. I definitely love the opportunity to meet wild animals or animals in general. I recently got to swim with dolphins and it was the best time ever!

I’m also not surprised that millennial travelers are more likely than Gen Xers or boomers to view destinations as hot spots if they have a booming industry and culture. 34% of boomers are most likely to define a destination as a hot spot if it was highlighted in a notable travel or lifestyle publication.

Our generation also likes to get down and boogie as 28% of millennials are more likely than Gen Xers (15%) and boomers (6%) to consider the local nightlife when choosing a destination abroad. It’s great to see so many interesting facts that I do feel are definitely spot on in regards to my thoughts on how I travel and where I travel too.

I do like to take time to make sure I’m planning my trips very carefully as traveling is very pricey.
