Why Carpet Is The Best For Our Baby Room!

As you all know we remodeled one of our bedrooms to make a rainbow nursery for our new baby. I’m thrilled to be partnering with The Carpet & Rug Institute to share the benefits of why we love and wanted carpet in our home and baby room!

With a new baby crawling around, I wanted a floor that would be soft and comfortable on his little hands and knees. Carpet is perfect as it provides that comfort we are looking for in his room and is allergy-friendly and sustainable. Carpet also helps reduce slips and falls and minimizes injuries. When the baby is learning to walk, he’s going to be doing a lot of falling. Having carpet will be much safer for him to learn on than a hardwood floor. Carpet is the foundation for a cozy, warm and stylish room.

We lined our whole apartment with carpet, so the baby could be comfortable wherever he crawls to in our home. We went with a beige colored carpet for our home since we didn’t want any color that would look and get dirty easily. There are many thousands of carpet styles, colors and patterns you can choose from when you are looking to buy a carpet.

It’s also an affordable flooring option and it can maintain its beauty for many years when it’s properly cleaned and maintained. It was honestly very difficult to pick a color, but we’re very happy with the color we chose.

Almost all carpet is certified as Green Label Plus, so you can be sure that the carpet you select emits the very lowest VOCs possible. That’s another reason I wanted carpet. We also have very noisy neighbors who live underneath us, so we wanted carpet to help keep his space a little less noisy. There would be nothing more terrible than having a baby constantly wake up from naps because of noisy neighbors. Since we put in the carpet, we can hardly hear them downstairs. Woot!

The carpet will also keep his room warm and comfortable during those cold winter months. We won’t have to worry about him catching a cold from sitting on a cold floor as he tries to read or play.

As you can see, we added a cloud design area rug to go on top of the carpet. We wanted to add a touch of decoration to the room and we also wanted to have a designated place for him to play on. It fit perfectly with the whole rainbow and clouds theme we have going on in the room. Small touches like this can make a big difference in a room.

It also provides double the cushion feeling and comfort on top of the carpet. I’m obsessed with it! We are also all about healthy living and thanks to our new carpet we’re improving our indoor air quality and providing a better space for living, working and learning for everyone in our family – including people with asthma and allergies.

I can go on and on about why I love our carpet, but I’ll stop there. Those are just some of the reasons carpet was the best choice for our home and our family. I can’t wait to see our new baby crawling around and playing on it.
