Hey All!
In celebration of Earth Day we decided to pull out all of our Disney Nature Movies and have a little earth appreciation movie marathon. We love the Disneynature movies and we we’re excited to add Disneynature’s WINGS OF LIFE on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack to our roster of nature documentaries this year. It was truly the perfect Earth Day movie to kick off our marathon!
This film is directed by Louie Schwartzberg (“America’s Heart & Soul”) and narrated by Academy Award winner Meryl Streep! Wings of Life takes a spectacular, closer-than-close, high-definition look at the intricate world of butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and bats, and their life-sustaining collaboration with flowers.

And this trailer below:
This nature film takes a different approach than any other nature film we’ve ever seen. It showcases how flowers are an essential part of nature and how important their relationships are with all the winged creatures that pollinate them and feed off of them. It also showcases how they survive through all the hardships of nature and how truly alive flowers can be.
The film is amazing and it’s shot in a way that is very unique. The film makers used both high speed and time lapse photography to capture the close up shots of these plants interacting with everything from bees to birds. The scenes of the bees pollinating the flowers are so amazing! You would never imagine how intricate the process of pollination is. It’s almost like a seduction between the flowers and the bees. I know what your thinking, it’s actually very beautiful and interesting to see!
The movie is the perfect movie to teach your kids about the importance of nature and how the different parts of nature work together. If you’re looking for something to watch to celebrate Earth Day today, I highly recommend you run out and get DisneyNature’s Wings of Life!
When you get this BluRay, You also get a Bonus sneak peek at Disneynature’s BEARS to be released in 2014.

This looks like such a lovely film.
I have seen the commercials on tv. Looks great!
I did love how it showed that everything works together. It was so well done.
I believe Disney was the first to show us a flower blooming by using time-lapse photography. He was a pioneer — and I’m old enough to remember those first blooming flowers. They impressed my young heart. How great that there is a movie like this one to bring us all closer to nature and captivate our kids too.
Love this DisneyNature video, it may be one of my faves so far.
