Yummy Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker Game Day Chili!

Hey All!

It’s tailgating season and growing up, it was traditional for my mom to create fun and original recipes for all the big games we would watch from ingredients we already had in the kitchen. She would use her Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker to create these recipes and it was always inspiring for me to see what she would come up with each week. She would honestly make something new and tasty each week for the big games we would watch. My dad was big on watching football games with friends and family. Anyone would want to switch it up each week if you have company coming over, so my mom had to always think of new recipes. My mom was all about being creative in the kitchen and she’s inspired me to be the same way today.

Now that I have my own NEW Crock-Pot® Single Hand Cook & Carry® 6-Quart Oval Slow Cooker to cook in, I’m always coming up with fun recipes for our own tailgating parties. I love cooking with it! I can come up with some fun recipes and cook it all inside my Crock-Pot® slow cooker. It cuts down on the mess I have to clean up and it also allows me to cook with out having to have to stand over a hot stove top. That’s a god send during football season, as I can go watch the game and spend time with my family while our meals cook. This week, I decided to put a twist on our chili and make it a chili and dip in one. I used ingredients I already had in the kitchen and came up with this Yummy Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker Game Day Chili recipe! I love when my recipes taste great and aren’t difficult to make.

To make this chili you’ll need:

  • NEW Crock-Pot® Single Hand Cook & Carry® 6-Quart Oval Slow Cooker
  • 1 12 lbs ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 12 teaspoon basil
  • 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1/2 cup minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons of salt and ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for garnish)
  • Shredded Mexican Style Cheese (for garnish)

To make this chili you’ll first turn on your Crock-Pot® slow cooker, so it heats up and is ready to start cooking.

In the slow cooker, you’ll first put in your ground beef.

You’ll let the meat simmer for about 5 minutes and then add the tomato puree, kidney beans, black beans, minced garlic, chili powder, oregano, basil red wine vinegar, and salt and pepper to the meat.

You’ll then mix it into the meat and then place the lid on the Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker, so that it can begin cooking.

Cook on high for about 5-6 hours.

Make sure meat is completely cooked before serving. Mix up the chili when it’s done, so that all the flavors combine.

Scoop out some chili into a bowl and add a garnish of sour cream and shredded Mexican style cheese to the top.

Serve with some chips and enjoy!

You can eat this fun chili as a dip as you watch the big game…crock-pot-tailgating-chili-recipe-2

Or you can just enjoy a bowl and eat it like you would an everyday side of chili.crock-pot-tailgating-chili-recipe

Don’t worry! It’s not spicy. It’s a simple and hearty delicious meal to enjoy when your watching your favorite sports games with your family and friends!

I hope you enjoy this chili as much as I do!
