Two Fab Disney Apps: Mickey’s Magical Math World & Disney Imagicademy!

Hey All!

I’m app obsessed and I especially love Disney apps for both myself and my family. I love giving my nephew (who is going on 7 years old) his own learning apps. I give some to my teen as well but he needs older apps of course. I downloaded both the Mickey’s Magical Math World AND Disney Imagicademy: Parents from the iTunes store with my iPad. The Mickey’s Magical Math World app is ONLY compatible with iPad (2nd generation or higher). Disney Imagicademy: Parents is compatible with both the iPhone and iPad. Keep that in mind when you’re downloading these apps for yourself.

Disney is launching a new learning brand created for families with children ages 3-8. The brand aims to engage and enrich children through the power of imagination and creativity. Unlike many learning aids that rely on rote memorization and repetitive gameplay, Disney will introduce children to fundamental subject matters through an interconnected system of apps that build upon each other to reinforce learning concepts in immersive and playful ways. With products from Disney’s new brand, parents and families can be part of a community that celebrates their children’s creativity and curiosity. In addition to the digital apps, children and parents can engage with the brand in a variety of ways, including a free community parent portal, free Disney Store events, books and magazines, and hands-on learning tools that extend the digital experience to the physical world.

In Mickey’s Magical Math World, children are invited to join Mickey and his pals on a fun-filled Space adventure that explores math concepts within a fully immersive playground of magical experiences. Kids can explore, recognize and identify shapes with Mickey’s Rocket Build; Play with numbers and patterns within Minnie’s Robot Playground; Ponder early number concepts with Donald’s Alien Number Line; Explore Counting to 10 and early problem solving with Donald’s Sleepwalking Aliens and experiment with shapes, patterns and sorting skills with Goofy.

The app opens with a fun animated intro from Mickey and the gang. You can bypass this intro by tapping on the screen if you’d like to get your child playing with the game asap.

You’re then taken to an amazing navigation menu that allows you to choose what you’d like your child to do. We love the count along and problem solving. It does it by allowing your kids to participate in games that incorporate these lessons in a creative and fun way. And lets not forget to mention that Mickey and all his friends like Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Minnie are also there guiding your kids along. What kid doesn’t want to learn with Mickey and his friends? My nephew loves it! He can’t get enough of it. He loves the colorful nature of the app and the interaction that he gets from the app as he’s learning.

What’s great as when he is done with his count along game and with the app in general, I can tap the parents tab that you see below in the top right corner.

That will prompt for you to enter the year you were born so it can verify that you are an adult going into the parents section. Such a helpful feature if you don’t want your kids seeing something that is adult themed in the parents section.

That immediately takes you to the Disney Imagicademy: Parents app. You can open this app on it’s own, but it’s great that you don’t even have to open the app itself to get to it. You can get there right from the Mickey’s Magical Math World app!

The Disney Imagicademy: Parents” is an all-new free app that serves as a parent’s ‘go-to’ resource to connect with the Imagicademy community and gather information that can be used to engage with their child in meaningful ways.

The app will give parents their daily dose of what is possible and answer the question, “What can I do today to help my child grow?’” through daily articles and Imagicademy-inspired activities designed to help spark creativity and encourage imaginative learning. “Disney Imagicademy: Parents” also serves as a portal into children’s Mickey’s Magical Math World, where parents can see their child’s latest creations, provide encouragement with a virtual “high five” and share their accomplishments with family and friends.

There you will find articles, parenting tips, free printables, and interviews. I’ve found some amazing pieces in this app written by some of my favorite bloggers.

This app has it’s navigation in the top left corner that you see with the three lines. You simply tap those lines and menu pops down which shows you posts you’ve favorited, categories, and it also allows you to tap to return to the Mickey’s Magical Math World game.

The categories are broken down into From the Lab, Imagine That!, Mickey’s Math Activities, Number Fun, Off the Page, Out and About…

I love the Print and Play, Parents 411, and Off the page categories in particular. Those free printables will keep kids entertained for hours. That’s a big help for me when I’m working feverishly. I also love the Parents 411 as you get some insight on parenting from real parents. And the Off the page category is like reading an amazing blog. This app really encompasses everything I need and look for in an app for myself and my family. They have the best original content and are very easy to navigate and use.

I highly recommend you download these amazing free Disney iPad apps for yourself and your kids.  You can download Mickey’s Mickey’s Magical Math World here and Disney Imagicademy Parents here!

You can also visit the Disney Imagicademy website here directly!

I hope you enjoy these apps as much as I do!
