Hey all!
Are you looking for a cute little gift to hand out to your besties for Galentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day? Well I’ve got just the idea for you! Check out these adorable DIY Galentine’s Day themed Earrings made with hot glue! I also created a little free printable Galentine’s Day backing card for them. That way you can easily hand them out to all your friends. These earrings were made with Surebonder® Glue Guns and Glue Sticks and I love how they turned out! I’m sure you all know by now how much I love my Surebonder® Glue Guns and Glue Sticks! I’m thrilled to partner with them once again to make these earrings for you!
I had no idea you could make earrings with hot glue. It’s an idea I have been wanting to try for some time and they came out super cute too!
They are also very easy to make! I love a cute DIY that’s easy to make of course.
What I love most about this project is that you can get any earrings mold and make these earrings. You can also use this technique to make some charms, necklaces, keychains and more! You can do so much with Surebonder® glue guns and glue sticks!
I love Surebonder® not only because they make the best glue guns and glue sticks around, they are also a family owned business. That is rare to find these days!
They’ve been around since 1968 and are made right here in the good old USA! I’m all about supporting products made in the USA!
For this project we’ll be using their Crafting and DIY Cordless/Corded Mini Size Specialty Detail Tip Glue Gun.
We’ll also be using their green heat resistant mat and their Color Stik glue sticks, glitter glue sticks, and Cool Shot Color glue sticks. I love all the fun and unique glue sticks Surebonder® offers. You can have so much fun creating with them.
Below is the full list of everything you’ll need to make these earrings below:
- And all the amazing products from Surebonder®that I mentioned above.
- Gold Earring Hooks
- Gold Earring Rings in various sizes
- Earring Silicon Molds
- Pink or Red Nail Polish
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Silicon Finger Protectors
- White Cardstock
- Our FREE PRINTABLE Galentine’s Day Earring Backing Cards
- Optional: Clear Cellophane Self Stick Bags
First arrange the glue stick colors you want to use for your earrings. Plug in your hot glue gun and let it heat up.
Put on your silicon finger protectors and place your first colored glue stick into the glue gun. Fill the earrings silicon molds with the hot glue. I have molds that look like hearts, diamonds, and a heart bear.
Try to move as quickly as you can to fill the whole mold before the glue begins to harden. The glue hardens very quickly, so you have to move relatively fast.
Make sure you get hot glue around where the hole for the gold ring for the earring will go.
Make as many earring pieces as you can with each color glue stick. Do only one color at a time and finish all the pieces of each color before you move onto the next color. I used pink, red, and silver glitter glue sticks to make my earrings.
Just a heads up the glitter glue sticks will mix with whatever glue stick you put in after it. It looks cool actually.
Let the earrings harden completely in the mold. You don’t want to touch hot glue!
Once the earring pieces are hardened and cool, clean up the edges and remove any excess glue. I had bear earrings with a heart belly, so I used some red nail polish to fill in the heart on the bear.
You then move on to putting your earrings together. Using a needle nose pliers, open up one of the large gold rings and wrap the open ring around the bottom piece. Close the ring with the pliers.
Proceed to do this with each piece earring and the final piece being the earring hooks.
Make sure all the rings are secure and safe so none of the pieces come off the ring as they move.
Once all your earrings are assembled, print out the FREE PRINTABLE Galentine’s Day Earring Backing Cards on white cardstock. Print out as many as you need for each set of earrings.
Cut them out and poke the earring hook through the black dots on the backing cards. You can place some heart stickers to hold the earring hooks on the back of the card, so they don’t fall off the card.
That’s it you’re done! You can hand them out to your besties on Galentine’s Day or slip them into a little clear cellophane bag before you hand them out.
Again, I love how this turned out! I think the pink lips…
The heart bear earrings…
And the diamond earrings are my favorites.
The hearts are simply and cute too!
The glitter glue sticks work really well for this DIY. They also hide any imperfections the best.
You can check out our reel video showing the step by step on how to make this below:
I hope you and your besties love these as much as I do!
