What I love about these popsicle DIY’s is that you can use simple supplies from around the house or from the Dollar Store. You can create these quick and easy Craft Stick Valentine Keys with the kiddos in just 30 minutes.
Here is how to make it.

- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Low Temp Works Best
- Acrylic Craft Paint – White, Red, Pink

- Our VALENTINE KEY PRINTABLE
First gather all supplies. To create each key, line up two jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim an additional jumbo craft stick to the width of the key and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Cut three regular craft sticks and glue to the key as its “teeth”.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Basecoat the handle craft stick keys with white, red, and pink acrylic craft paint. Then mix and match, painting the “teeth” a contrasting color. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
DOWNLOAD AND PRINT our VALENTINE KEY PRINTABLE. Cut out the heart shape with scissors and trace onto white, red, and pink craft foam with a pencil. Using scissors, cut out the craft foam hearts.
Layer a large and medium felt heart sticker on top of the craft foam heart. Mix and match the colors to create your unique combination.
Attach the layered heart as the handle of the craft stick key using a glue gun and glue sticks. Mix and match the colors, using the photo as a reference.
Cut out the Key to my Heart sayings and attach to the craft stick keys using an adhesive runner or glue stick. You can also create your own sayings and write them directly onto the keys with washable markers.
Create these bright and colorful Dollar Store Craft Stick Valentine Keys with the kiddos to not only promote learning skills, but also to spark conversations about the history of Valentine’s Day and love.
Hope you and your kids enjoy these just as much as I do!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
