5 Reasons You Don’t Want To Miss Disney’s Zootopia!

Disney-Zootopia-Press-Day-2

Hey All!

After visiting Disney Animation to learn about Zootopia, I thought I would share 5 Reasons You Don’t Want To Miss Disney’s Zootopia! It’s going to be such a fun and creative movie from all that I’ve seen and I can’t wait to see the entire film once it’s complete! There is nothing that I love more than talking animals. If you’re like me, you’re definitely going to love this one! These five things are just a taste of what I got to learn and preview about the movie while at this fabulous media event I attended. They are also what I’m most excited to see completed in the final film. This is just some of what you have to look forward to when you see Zootopia in theaters March 4th, 2016.

1. Incredibly creative worlds created for the animals of Zootopia to live in.

A lot of thought went into each animal inhabited world seen in the film. You can learn more about the creation of The Burrows, Rainforest District, Sahara Square, and Tundratown HERE. My favorite has to be The Burrows, since it’s thousands of adorable bunnies!

2. Dancing Tigers! Need I say more?

When I first got a glance of the dancing tiger at the Disney D23 conference, I fell instantly in love with him! I can not wait to see more of his amazing dancing in the film!

3. Jason Bateman voicing his first animated character!

Jason lends his voice to one of the main characters in the film. He plays a con-artist fox named Nick Wilde. I love Jason Bateman and I think he’s hilarious. From what I’ve seen thus far of his performance in the film, he’s going to be amazing in this film.

4. An amazing cast of characters and actors to voice them! And let’s not forget all the celeb cameos.

The film also stars Ginnifer Goodwin as the voice of Zootopia’s first bunny officer Judy Hopps.

Shakira, who voices international superstar Gazelle also wrote an all-new original song called “Try Everything” for the film! It sounds fantastic and I LOVE Shakira!

You can check out a preview of the song in the trailer video below:

The film also has some major star power including:

  • Idris Elba (Netflix’s “Beasts of No Nation,” BBC’s “Luther”) provides the voice of CHIEF BOGO, head of the Zootopia Police Department. A tough cape buffalo with 2,000 lbs of attitude, Bogo is reluctant to add Judy Hopps, Zootopia’s first bunny cop, to his squad of hardened rhinos, elephants and hippos.
  • J.K. Simmons (“Juno,” Oscar® winner for “Whiplash”) lends his voice to MAYOR LEODORE LIONHEART, the noble leader of Zootopia, who coined the city’s mantra that Judy Hopps lives by: “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.”
  • Nate Torrence (HBO’s “Hello Ladies,” Fox’s “Weird Loners”) lends his voice to the Zootopia Police Department’s most charming cheetah, BENJAMIN CLAWHAUSER. Clawhauser loves two things: pop star Gazelle and donuts. From his reception desk, he greets everyone with a warm smile and a helpful paw—covered in sprinkles.
  • Jenny Slate (“Obvious Child,” “Marcel the Shell”) provides the voice of ASSISTANT MAYOR BELLWETHER, a sweet sheep with a little voice and a lot of wool, who constantly finds herself under foot of the larger-than-life Mayor Lionheart.
  • Tommy Chong (“Up in Smoke,” “That ’70s Show”) lends his iconic voice to YAX THE YAK, the most enlightened, laid-back bovine in Zootopia. When Judy Hopps is on a case, Yax is full of revealing insights.
  • Octavia Spencer (“Insurgent,” Oscar® winner for “The Help”) voices MRS. OTTERTON, a desperate otter who turns to Officer Judy Hopps for help in solving her husband’s mysterious disappearance.
  • Bonnie Hunt (“Return to Me,” “Jerry Maguire”) provides the voice of BONNIE HOPPS.
  • Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Trumbo”) returns to Disney Animation’s recording studio for his fourth feature in a row as the voice of DUKE WEASELTON, a small-time weasel crook with a big-time weasel mouth, who tries to give Judy the slip during a police chase.

5. Last but not least, the movie has a great unique story with a very sweet message.

It’s going to be a great family movie that will showcase the themes of never giving up on your dreams and never judge a book by it’s cover.  Sadly, that’s something kids need to hear and see more often in the times we live in today.

Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4, 2016! You don’t want to miss it!
