Dolphin Tale 2 is a great heart-warming family-friendly story that is based on actual events, much like the first film. The original cast returns, as does the star, Winter the dolphin and a new addition Hope the dolphin. The story takes place roughly where the 2011 original left off and follows the journey of how Winter and Hope came together at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
In this film, Winter gets a new and improved tail and continues to be a symbol of perseverance and inspiration for those with disabilities. Things get turned upside down after fellow dolphin Panama dies of old age. It’s a very sad event that will pull on your heartstrings. Winter grieves over the death of her companion and a race is on to find Winter a new companion or else Winter will be sent to another aquarium as rules that govern the aquarium state that the aquarium must have two females dolphins together at all times. Sawyer Winter’s human companion struggles with being there for Winter and going off on a life journey of his own.
Those who fund the aquarium seem determined to keep dolphins around for visitors, urging Haskett (Harry Connick Jr.) to find a partner for Winter. Will they find a partner and keep winter? The aquarium can only have a little hope. You’ll have to see the film to find out and learn about the new dream team Winter and Hope.
The film truly continues to showcase disability in such a compassionate way and is such an inspiring story for the whole family to see.

I am always up for a good movie. I need to go and watch Dolphin Tale and then this one.
I hate to admit this, but I’ve not see the first one. Always wanted to, but just didn’t, so I’m going to watch it and then I’ll be ready for this one!

My daughter really wants to see this movie, we both love Dolphin’s.
I’m so glad to hear that it picks up where the first one left off. My kids and I have watched that one so many times. I am also glad to hear that the second one is just as good as the first.
I’m sure we will be heading to the theaters soon to watch this movie!
