Looking for a fun Back to School Craft to do with the kids? Check out these Minion Bookmarks! This post contains affiliate links
Hey All!
Back to School time is here! Work on shapes, colors, cutting and counting with this simple Minions Bookmark craft created from felt. A colorful place keeper for all your favorite books!
They are so fun and the perfect little bookmark for your minion loving kids to take back to school.
Here is how to make them:
- Craft Felt – Yellow, Blue, Black, Light Grey
- Wiggle Eyes
- Twine, Black
- Dimensional Fabric Paint, Black
- Permanent Marker
- Liquid Fabric Glue
- Fiskars RazorEdge Fabric Scissors
- MINIONS BOOKMARK PATTERN SHEET
Download, print and cut out the MINIONS BOOKMARK PATTERN SHEET. Trace patterns onto colored craft felt with a permanent marker. If creating with older kiddos you can attach patterns to craft felt with straight pins.
Cut out with scissors, inside the lines, so you have a clean finished project. Make the overalls as long or as short as you like to give your Minions their own personality.
Lay the cut-out patterns on your work surface. Attach the blue felt overalls and the black felt boots to the Minion body using liquid fabric glue. A low temp glue gun and glue sticks will also work for this project.
To create the goggles, glue the grey felt eye pieces onto the black felt straps, and then the wiggle eyes. Attach the completed goggles onto the Minion with liquid fabric glue. Some Minions have two eyes and some have one eye.
Cut various lengths of black twine to create the Minion’s hair. Attach to the top center of the Minion’s head with a small amount of liquid fabric glue. Give your Minions some individuality.
To complete the Minion Bookmarks, add the details. Using a dimensional fabric paint pen, add the mouths, outline the overalls, and add the buttons. Draw the “G” logo onto the bib of the overalls.
Use what you have on hand to create with the kiddos. Instead of felt, use colored cardstock, carboard and paint, or even colored craft foam.
Yarn or embroidery floss would work instead of twine. Add the details with a black permanent marker, or a glitter glue pen.
A fun family activity to create in just about 30 minutes. Add a name to create the perfect place card for a Minion birthday party with the kiddos. The possibilities are endless with these cuties!
Hope you and your kids love them as much as I do!
