Hey All!
It’s National Pizza Party Day and of course I was going to celebrate by having my own party and making a Mickey Pesto Pizza! It’s sooooo good and I can’t believe how good this turned out. My husband and son are obsessed with it. They think it’s better than Dominos! lol. I’ve become quite the chef during this crazy pandemic. I have nothing else to do but try to find work and make every recipe I find! Am I the only one who wants to try every recipe I find? I hope not.
I thought this recipe would be hard to make, but it was super simple. I found a copy cat Dominos pizza dough recipe and followed the easy directions. I had most of the ingredients already and had the rest delivered via Instacart and Amazon Fresh. Do what you can and you can add any toppings to this pizza and it will be amazing.
Here is how to make it.
I used THIS Amazing Pizza Dough recipe. You probably have all the ingredients at home already. Here are all the ingredients and links to get the hard to find ingredients that can be shipped right to your door. All linked items can be shipped to your home!
- 5 Cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 3⁄4 cups warm water
- 3 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons of garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of oregano
- 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
- 1 jar of pizza sauce
- 1 bag of Pizza Blend Cheese
- 1 jar of basil pesto
- 1 container of fresh mozzarella pearls
First you make your dough using this amazing Pizza Dough recipe. Let the dough rise by letting it sit out with a towel and some parchment over it. Divide the dough into three pieces. Two small pieces for the ears and one big pizza for the head shape. Combine all three pieces to make the Mickey shape and then press in the centers of each to make the crust.
Put your pizza sauce on followed by…
Your pizza cheese and mozzarella peals.
Then on medium heat place your butter, minced garlic (with some of the liquid from the minced garlic), garlic powder, oregano, and Italian seasoning into a pan and bring to a sizzle.
Brush the crust with it and then drizzle your pesto around the pizza. You can put as much as you want.
Bake in on a pan at 450°F until crust is crisp and golden and cheese has melted.
I like my cheese to get a little brown, but that’s just me! The dough has to get a golden color to it for it to be done in my opinion.
That’s all you have to do to make it! Serve and enjoy! You can definitely make this tonight for Dinner to celebrate National Pizza Party Day!
