Hey All!

We recently had the great opportunity to take the family and my maid of honor visiting from Virginia to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament! It’s North America’s longest running dinner attraction and it was such a fun and unique time. I had never been to Medieval Times and I thought it would be a great fun thing to do after the rough week we’d had.

They have a brand new show and they are celebrating the California Castle’s 25th anniversary and its recent $2.5 million renovation. We could not wait to see it! Brides love men with swords!

The best part about Medieval Times is your ticket includes the show and your meal. It’s actually a utensil-free meal serviced in a castle-inspired arena.

The menu includes:

  • Tomato Bisque
  • Garlic Bread
  • Oven Roasted Chicken
  • Larger BBQ Spare Rib
  • Herb-Basted Potato Split into Quarters
  • Braided Apple Strudel
  • Larger Beverage Servings and Coffee

You enter the Hall of Arms to collect your color, crown, and section in which you will sit, eat, and cheer for your Knight. The live show not only features Knights battling it out, it also features amazing two-and four-legged performers. The horses are beyond beautiful and very talented in this show. Pure Spanish Horses, Quarter Horses, Friesians and Menorcan – from the Mediterranean island for which it is named – complete the mix of horses at each of Medieval Times’ nine North American Castles.

You will see live jousting, sword fights, horsemanship and falconry. You are encouraged to cheer for one of six “Knights of the Realm,” named after historic regions of medieval Spain. Trust me you get very into the experience when your seeing the show. You want to see your Knight win. Luckily we were sitting in the Blue section and our Knight won!

After the opening, you witness intricate battles, which are precisely planned sequences that have been practiced daily.

With authentic weaponry and enhanced armor, the new production presents non-stop action tied to the tempo of the music. And while there’s still a general theme of “good versus evil” throughout the show, guests will see much more of what they like most about the show – fight scenes that maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

The battles are really a sight to see. The costumes, the competitions, and the Knights are all fantastic.

It truly is a unique and great experience for the whole family. You will love the show and love the fun of getting messy when you eat. You kids will love it!
