Hey All!
You all know how much I love my Mickey Gingies, well I wanted to try my hand at those trendy frosting boards, so I made a Mickey Gingerbread Frosting Board! How cute is this?!! It’s the perfect festive treat to enjoy with your family or friends this holiday season. It’s easy to make and perfect for any holiday festivity.
My family is obsessed with it and I can’t wait to make it again for Christmas day. You can customize it with what ever treats you’d like to dunk into it. You can also just use store bought frosting if you don’t want to make it from scratch like the recipe calls for below.
Do what ever works for you during this busy holiday season!
Here is how to make it:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened 4 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tbsp. heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 disposable piping bag
- 1 mini offset spatula
- Chocolate brown food coloring
- 1 tube of red premade decorating frosting
- 1 tube of chocolate premade decorating frosting Christmas Sprinkles
DIPPER IDEAS:
- Christmas cookies Vanilla wafers
- Oreos
- Chocolate chip cookies Oatmeal cookies
- Rice krispy treats Graham crackers
Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat softened butter on high speed for 2 minutes until pale and fluffy. Add powdered sugar half a cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time.
You want the frosting to be stiff but spreadable. If the frosting is to thin, add in 3⁄4 C powdered sugar. If the frosting is to stiff, mix in 2 tsp at a time heavy whipping cream Scoop about 3⁄4 C white frosting into one of the piping bags.
Mix in about 3 – 5 drops of chocolate brown food coloring into the remaining frosting. You want a light brown shade of frosting. Scoop the brown frosting into the second piping bag.
I used a 13×9 baking sheet to make my board. Using the brown frosting, pipe dollops of frosting in the shape of Mickey’s head.
Pipe frosting inside Mickey’s head and using a offset spatula, evenly spread the brown frosting to make a smooth layer.
Take the white frosting and pipe on icing drips on top of the brown frosting and smooth evenly Sprinkle some Cchristmas sprinkles on top of the white.
Using the chocolate premade frosting, pipe the eyes, nose and mouth.
Using the red premade frosting, pipe dollops on the edges of the mouth.
Fill the area around the mickey frosting with your favorite holiday sweets!
Hope you love this Mickey Gingerbread Frosting Board just as much as I do!
Happy Holidays everyone!
