Hey All!
I don’t know about you, but I think I’m more excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens than I am Christmas. That’s sad to admit, but it’s the truth. I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life to see a new Star Wars movie with the original cast. Since the film was announced, I’ve been counting the days until it’s release. With the film only a few weeks away, I’m giddy like a school girl and constantly checking out all things Star Wars over on Fandango. I have to stay in the loop if any new footage is released and Fandango is my go to source of course. I already got tickets to the Star Wars marathon when the tickets first went on sale and took down the internet. To count down to the films release, I’m celebrating in my own DIY way by making some tasty treats and crafts. They’ll be centered mainly around one character from the film I’m already obsessed with and that is the adorable little droid BB-8.
Ever since I saw BB-8 peek his little head from around the corner, I’ve been obsessed. I watch every preview and piece of footage just to get a glimpse of him. I go to Star Wars events praying the real BB-8 is there, so I can take him home with me. The BB-8 obsession is real folks.
Being able to make things, like these No-Bake Star Wars: The Force Awakens BB-8 Cookies, is pacifying the BB-8 obsession some what. I’m turning everything I see that is round into a BB-8. If you’re as obsessed with BB-8 as I am, here is how to make these fun tasty cookies for yourself.
- Mini and Regular Sized Belgian Caramel Wafer Cookies.
- Bright White Chocolate Candy Melts.
- Black Assortment of large and small sprinkles.
- Pre-made Orange and Black Icing Tubes.
- Pastry tips.
- Silver and Black edible rice paper.
First you start out by cutting your Mini Belgian Caramel Wafer Cookies in halves. This is to make the BB-8 head. You then melt your white candy chocolate melts in your microwave for 1 minute and then stir. You then microwave for another minute.
You then dunk both your half of the mini caramel wafer cookie and the large regular sized cookie in the melted white chocolate.
You place the two pieces together, so they fuse together with the chocolate to form the BB-8 body. You then cut out some small strips and circles from your silver and black rice paper. This will form the metal accents on BB-8. You cut some of the silver circles in halves to make the shapes.
You ad your silver & black strips of rice paper and your black sprinkles for his viewfinder eyes and nob on his head.
You then take your black and orange icing to create the circle shapes and lines around his body and face. I kept a BB-8 in front of me for some kind of reference. I recommend you have your BB-8 or a photo on hand to reference.
Once you got your lines and circles drawn out, you’re done and you have yourself an adorable and simple to make BB-8 Cookie.
The best part about this cookie is you didn’t even have to turn the oven or the mixer to make them!
I think BB-8 approves of his mini-me cookie.
It was a trial and error to make them, but they came out OK for my first time making these.
I think this cookie (seen below) is my favorite from the bunch.
I know my family enjoys these just as much as I do and I’m sure yours will too.
No too shabby when you see them side by side right?
I think it’s the perfect Star Wars cookie for having been made in under 15 minutes!
Be sure to make enough for everyone, as these will go fast the second you make them. They are too cute to resist!
