Our Family Fish Fridays!

This post was sponsored by Gorton’s Seafood. All opinions are my own.

Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but my family and I celebrate Lent. During this time we eat fish each Friday and we call it Fish Fridays. Thankfully, we don’t have to spend a lot of time cooking each week because we have our go-to brand Gortonā€™s for dinner on Fish Fridays. We love our Fish Sticks and Fish Sandwich Fillets. They are now made with whole fillets of Alaska Pollock (never minced) and are flash frozen to lock in maximum flavor and nutrition. Theyā€™re a convenient, real, meal protein I love eating and serving.

Did you know experts recommend kids eat fish 1-2 times per week to live a healthy and nutritious lifestyle? Omega-3ā€™s are important for brain health throughout the entire lifespan of a child and growing young adult. Since our baby has now starting eating solid foods, we’re starting seafood off early. Doing this may stave off any allergies he could develop in the future. As you can see he’s already wanting to get his hands on all the fish sticks!

What I love most about these fish sticks is I can quickly pop them in the oven for dinner. They can be enjoyed with any number of sides. They pretty much go with anything and taste amazing!

When I’m in a rush and working, I sometimes pop them in the oven and enjoy them by themselves for lunch. Who says it can’t be Fish Friday every day?

Even though we’re primarily eating these on Fridays, we do find ourselves eating them other days of the week. Especially when we have a lot going on during the week. We live ridiculously busy lives and the last thing we want to do is spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking.

When we’re busy we like to have meals that we can simply heat up and enjoy. These fish sticks do just that and they truly make our family Fish Fridays all that more fun!

Getting to eat together as a family has never been more fun now that our baby can eat with us. I know he loves our Gorton’s Fish Sticks just as much as we do! Can’t you tell by the way he’s eyeing the fish stick in my hand? He’s obsessed!

We primarily eat the Fish Sticks on Fish Fridays, but we also love a good fish sandwich as well. We have to share how much we love these Fish Sandwich Fillets as well. They are perfect for making a quick sandwich for lunch or dinner.

My husband loves these even more than I do! He loves to make them when he’s watching the baby by himself. They are delicious and easy for him to make and eat when he’s got the baby in one hand.

Fish sandwiches are another great meal idea for Fish Friday dinners as well. We switch it up each Friday in Lent with either one of these amazing Gorton’s products.

I know even after Lent is over, we’ll still continue to eat fish on Fridays. I want our baby to grow up big and strong. I know incorporating fish into his diet is surely going to help!

If you’re looking for a quick and easy family meal option or a meal option for Lent, I highly encourage you to eat fish on Fridays! Make your own Fish Friday with Gorton’s Fish Sticks and Fish Sandwich Fillets!

I usually make fish sticks from scratch but during those days when I am pressed for time, it is always Godrdon’s that I get. They are delicious and my family loves them as much as my home made fish sticks.

I had no idea they suggest fish two times a week for kids. I love my fish so, I suppose I’m on a bit of a healthier route without knowing it! ha!
