Did you know that thirty years ago today on Oct. 1, 1982, EPCOT Center opened, the most ambitious theme park Disney had ever created. Today, more than 1,000 members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club gathered at Epcot in Walt Disney World for a full day of special presentations to commemorate this incredible, memorable theme park.

More than 1,000 Epcot enthusiasts, members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, gathered at Epcot’s World Showcase on Sunday, Oct. 1, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the theme park, which first opened on Oct. 1, 1982. A day of special panels and presentations, all created by D23, marked the anniversary.
I remember going to Disney World when I was a little girl and being so excited about the opening! I always loved the different cultures I learned about and eating so many different foods at Epcot! I’m so excited Epcot is still around today and bigger and better than ever since it’s truly a magical place to share with your family.
