Hey All!

As you all know I’m a Latina Woman. I’m Puerto Rican and Cuban in case you didn’t know. I am thrilled Hispanic Heritage Month is coming up and in honor of Hispanic heritage month, Verizon FiOS or their Spanish language brand Somos FiOS will be donating to 3 different Hispanic non-profits. The non-profit organizations are the Cesar Chavez Foundation, National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers with our The Power to Empower promotion. They are leaving it up to the public to decide which charity gets what percentage of the money by choosing their preference and “sharing” on Facebook.

You simply visit the Somos FiOS Facebook page here to cast your vote for which organization you’d like to support. The page will look like this below.

I’m showing my support for the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts as I’m a huge supporter of the arts and self expression. Clearly I love to express myself or I wouldn’t have this blog. I also grew up taking dance, musical theater, and music lessons so the arts are very important for me to support and spread the message about. All Latinos should know the value of the arts.

I hope you will join me in taking this opportunity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in this unique way! Wepa!

  • That’s nice that they are giving to charities and that people can help decide the percentage.

I think it’s terrific that the public can help make the decision on how it’s dispersed. They’re all worthy causes. Tough choice!

  • I feel the arts and self expression are extremely important, which is why I enrolled our children in an art based charter school. They get to learn Spanish, violin and theater! I also absolutely adore Hispanic themed art, especially Dia De Los Muertos type pieces.
