Hey All!
I’ve teamed up with Seventh Generation to help spread awareness about the importance of chemical reform in the United States. The subject of chemical reform really resonates with me because I literally experience the affects that chemicals can have on me and my family. With this reform I’d like to see a change in the way chemicals are tested, regulated and used in the products we trust with our families. There have been many instances of allergies, rashes, and breathing issues in my family that have resulted from the products we used.
If you do some research of some of the actual chemicals used in the products we use on our bodies and in our homes you’d be horrified. I strongly believe that’s why there is a excess of sick people and cancers now-a-days because of all the chemicals we use in the products we use in our homes. After reading about The Toxic Substances Control Act and Seventh Generation’s Toxin Freedom Fighters Campaign, I learned that of the 80,000 synthetic chemicals introduces into the market since the Toxic Substances Control Act was passed in 1976, the EPA has only required testing on less than 10%. Scientists have linked exposure to toxic chemicals to many health risks, such as Cancer, Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities, asthma, birth defects, and various reproductive problems!
When you have a baby you know just how sensitive their skins and little bodies can be. They can be susceptible to many things and harsh chemicals should not be one of them.
Following a green and eco-friendly lifestyle is important to me as I want to be healthy for my family and I also want my family to live a long and healthy life. Taking small steps like researching the brands we use to avoid dangerous chemicals or toxins and changing the brands we use make a big difference. Having a brand like Seventh Generation around that is easy to find and use has been a huge life saver in taking these small steps for change.
Join me in demanding that congress reevaluate the Toxic Substances Control Act for the first time since 1976!
If we collect 100,000 signatures:
• The Toxin Freedom Fighters will deliver them to Congress on April 30, 2014
• The signatures will strengthen the movement behind chemical reform, and will encourage decision-makers to change the necessary laws
• Seventh Generation will spread awareness about the 37 year-old TSCA and starts conversations about how it fails to protect the health of the general public
