The Mirage also offers the experience of a lifetime to those who love dolphins.

The family will love the Dolphin Trainer for a Day program.

The Trainer for a Day program provides guests with unforgettable memories of working side-by-side with animal experts and a family of common bottlenose dolphins at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage.

Participants learn about dolphin health and behavior, as well as the Dolphin Habitat’s research projects that aid in the survival of the common bottlenose dolphins in the wild. Trainer for a Day provides a chance to connect with these magnificent creatures and experience a hands-on, educational program for those who want to deepen their understanding of these marine mammals. Every person’s experience is different as the dolphins’ needs vary daily.

“The Trainer for a Day experience is an enjoyable memory that will last forever,” said Charles Kotulski, a Trainer for a Day participant and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. “The strength of the program is the fact that I was actively involved and not just a spectator. This adventure will appeal to anyone who loves animals and wants to learn more about dolphins.”

The adventure begins at 9:45 a.m. when the program facilitator greets the participants and provides a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dolphin Habitat which includes an overview of training terminology and provides information on each dolphin, as well as the care and maintenance of the habitat. After the tour, participants enjoy a continental breakfast before changing into their wetsuits.

Dave Blasko, director of animal care at The Mirage, said, “These training sessions are very important for the dolphins’ well-being. The dolphins learn to participate in their own health care by cooperating with trainers, who do daily health checks of each animal. Participants also have the opportunity to observe many aspects of dolphin care, including veterinary care procedures such as ultrasounds and recording the animals’ heart rates and temperatures, which the public rarely sees.”

When The Mirage designed this program, the most important consideration was the safety and health of the dolphins. The various people the dolphins are exposed to through Trainer for a Day give the dolphins variation in their environment.

Midday, the participants break to enjoy an exceptional private lunch served at a secluded, poolside table overlooking the Dolphin Habitat.

I experienced the Trainer for a Day program and I can tell you first hand that it’s a spectacular experience. It’s always been a life long dream of mine to meet and touch a dolphin.

I not only got to touch this adorable creature, I got to feed him as well.

They were so adorable and friendly. They literally swam up to us  and looked like they were smiling as they swam up. They were such adorable happy dolphins.

We got an up close and personal look at the dolphins and how they are cared for.

It was such an amazing experience. It’s a must do for the whole family.

The Shark Reef Aquarium Animal Encounters is also a great place to visit with the family.

Expanding on its educational and entertaining ways to connect visitors with the underwater kingdom, Shark Reef Aquarium now offers guests four unique offerings to interact with its resident animals. The experiences include opportunities to feed stingrays and horseshoe crabs in the touch pool area, hand feeding sea turtles and meeting other animals in the shipwreck exhibit, watching or feeding a Zebra Shark along with learning about shark conditioning and arranging for a diver to present a custom wedding proposal in one of the underwater exhibits.

The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil is fantastic. One of the best family friendly shows on the strip.

At the Bellagio is “O” by Cirque du Soleil.

“O” by Cirque du Soleil invites guests to experience the show in ultimate comfort and luxury as it introduces the new VIP suites to the theater. Combining the grandeur of Bellagio with the master creativity of “O,” the seven exclusive box suites offer a unique opera-house style and feel. With the suites, guests have a choice of a bottle of champagne or wine, chocolate truffles, and a private cocktail server with a full range of ordering options from the show’s concessions including popcorn, premium cocktails, chocolate-covered strawberries and more. Cirque du Soleil shows are extremely entertaining with their lavish sets and amazing death defying acrobatics. They truly are a sight to see.

I had the amazing opportunity to see Zarkana.

Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil is a spirited journey through an abandoned theater where an extraordinary circus comes back to life. Populated by a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats, Zarkana is a visual vortex set in a twisted acrobatic fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to a true celebration.

The set changes were spectacular.

The acrobatics and showmanship was amazing. What this woman did with these tennis balls was spectacular.

The performers use every section of the stage for acrobatics.

The quintessential Cirque du Soleil spectacular features an international cast of 70 world class acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, high-wire and trapeze artists. Zarkana’s newest act, the Atherton Twins, hail from the UK and most recently performed in Cirque du Soleil’s IRIS. Additional appearances include a performance on the 84^th Academy Awards which was televised in more than 225 countries worldwide. The Atherton Twins debuted in Zarkana in February 2014.

At Luxor you can catch Jabbawockeez “PRiSM”! The world-famous dance crew Jabbawockeez dances into its new home at Luxor with an all-new show “PRiSM.” A celebration of imagination, the show is an eclectic mix of awe-inspiring choreography, captivating storylines and stunning special effects, forming a production that challenges audiences to embrace the unexpected. The crew performs in the Jabbawockeez Theater, an 830-seat venue featuring amphitheater style seating and top-of-the-line acoustics to complement the musical artistry of the show. Blending chart topping hits and original tracks by JBWKZ Records artist The Bangerz, Jabbawockeez enchants audiences with electrifying energy and beats that transcend generational boundaries, leaving guests of all ages dancing in their seats.

Tournament of Kings is the most exciting dinner show on the Vegas Strip, recently introduced its newest cast member and first female horse rider Iranda Dyer. Dyer was hired to perform alongside the other maidens of Tournament of Kings in a new dance routine, but has a unique role and dance partner. Dyer, a skilled rider with 20 years of experience with horses, sits atop Nobilissimo, one of the show’s four-legged cast members, and commands him through a performance of dressage. Considered an art, dressage is a routine in which horse and rider make precise movements as one harmonious team.
