Hey All!

There is nothing the kids in my house love more than their Disney Channel and Disney Junior. One show they are obsessed with is Sofia The First! My niece in particular is the most obsessed with it as she wants to be Sofia! It’s a little girl who is a princess of about her age. Of course she would want to be her!

I was thrilled when I was sent a Disney Mattel Sofia The First: Talking sofia and Animal Friends Doll for review for her and the kids. Out of all the kids which are mainly boys, she would be the most likely to love this doll obviously since she wants all things Sofia.

Pretending to be a princess is a rite of passage for nearly every little girl. Now with Sofia the First, girls can learn with Sofia that looking like a princess isn’t all that hard, but behaving like one must come from the heart. With the help of the three fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy — Flora, Fauna and Merryweather of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty — and her fairy godfather Bailywick, Sofia learns that what makes a real princess is what’s on the inside.

I asked my niece what kindness and honesty means to her as she wants to be Sofia, who embodies those characteristics, and her response was “It means to always be nice and good and have manners. And to not lie about stuff.” She gets it thankfully and maybe she will get to be Sofia after all! Well at least she can do it with her imagination for the time being with this amazing toy!

As the story goes, Sofia has the Magic Amulet of Avalor that allows her to talk to animals, but is coveted by the evil sorcerer Cedric who wants to steal it so he can use it to take over the kingdom. You can tune in to the series on Friday mornings at 9:30am/8:30am Central on Disney Junior on Disney Channel!

The Disney Sofia the First Talking Sofia and Animal Friends Doll is wearing her very special amulet from the King, Sofia can understand and talk with animals. Dressed in her signature princess gown, this 10.5-inch Sofia doll can recognize and talk with three of her best animal friends: Clover the Rabbit, Robin the Robin and Mia the Bluebird. When girls bring each animal close to Sofia’s amulet, it glows, and Sofia can recognize and talk to each beloved friend and get unique responses in return!

The doll and little animal friends are very well made and work perfectly when they are near the doll.

Just like in the series, Sofia’s amulet glows as she “talks” with each of her animal friends. Girls can unlock over 30 phrases, really bringing the characters to life!

Sofia looks enchanting in her signature purple gown with a sparkly bodice and sheer peplum. The skirt is multilayered, featuring a white underskirt, purple skirt, and petal-hemmed overlay with elegant white detailing. She wears her purple amulet, which perfectly matches the glittery tiara atop her loose wavy curls.
