Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but I tend to use spray starch on a variety of things. I use primarily for ironing, as I hate to wear wrinkled and worn down clothing. That’s why I use Faultless® Premium Starch, as it keeps our clothes looking new. It’s the starch that performs and reduces ironing time. Unlike other spray starch, the Faultless Premium bottle won’t clog, flake or spot. That’s what makes it great to use with in a DIY. Spray starch is not just for ironing folks! I’m super excited to partner with Faultless Premium Spray Starch to show you one fun DIY which uses spray starch in the tutorial. Check out these super cute No Sew DIY Splattered Ice Cream Pin Cushions I’m showing you how to make today! They are so easy to make and being that this is Ice Cream Month, they are perfectly festive to make during this fun ice cream filled month. If you like to sew, you can certainly use them as a traditional pin cushion to keep track of your pins. Or you can use them to store your accessory flair pins, which is what I’m doing. I have to keep track of all my amazing pins some how!

To make these pin cushions you’ll need:

First you’ll use your Faulteless Premium Starch to prep the material.

You’ll spray the starch on to the fabric covering the entire area you plan to use.

You then iron out any wrinkles from the fabric. You don’t want any wrinkles to show on your ice cream.

You then take your scissors and cut out a 10 inch circle from your fabric and another 8 inch piece, which you’ll cut to look like the bottom of splattered ice cream. You’ll fill the circle piece with the pillow filling and tie the ends of the fabric together. You’ll them use your glue gun to seal the rest of the fabric and to seal the little circle cushion you created shut. You want to make sure none of the pillow filling is sticking out in any areas.

Once you have your cushion complete, you stick it on to your splattered bottom fabric sheet with your glue gun. You’ll let the glue harden completely and then you’ll spray the entire ice cream looking cushion with some more spray starch. This will give the cushion that slightly harder feel that a pin cushion has.

Let the cushion dry completely and when it’s dry, glue your fake cherry on to the top of the ice cream cushion to finish off your pin cushion.

You then add your pins and enjoy!

I learned a trick to remove a coffee or tea stain is to Sponge immediately with cold water. If stain persists, try a pre-wash and launder with a fabric-safe bleach. Another method: if safe for fabric, stretch the stain over a bowl, fasten with a rubber band and pour boiling water on the stain from a height if 1 to 3 feet.
