Easy DIY College Finals Care Package!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Warner Bros. Pictures. All opinions are entirely my own.

Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but I’m very familiar with friends and family starting over and going back to school to change careers or go after their dreams of finally going to college. I can totally relate, as I used to work in the film and television industry. I went to college for it, but ended up changing careers to work for myself in the social media/blogging world. That’s why I’m loving the new movie Life of the Party.

Melissa McCarthy stars as an old school mom who creates a whole new life! Don’t miss it in theaters May 11.

Here is a little about the movie:

When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college…landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock—embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

It’s going to be such a fun movie to see with my own friends going back to school. Since this film inspired me, I decided to make my own easy DIY College Finals Care Package send my own college student friends! I’m going to show you what I did today, in case you have any friends you’d like to send one to as well!

First, I made some cute giant college graduation hat confetti to throw in the box. They were inspired by Melissa McCarthy’s hat on the film’s poster.

I made them simply by cutting out some graduation hats with my Cricut cutting machine and gluing the red tassels onto them with some craft glue.

You can also cut these shapes by hand using some scissors. They are very easy to make!

Since Melissa McCarthy’s character Deanna is all about the school spirit and flair…

I decided to make some encouraging little banner flags to wish my friends well on their finals.

I made them simply with some craft foam, scissors, sticker letters, and butterfly stickers.

I just cut out the triangular flag shape with my scissors, stuck on the sticker letters to form the phrase “You Can Do It!”, and stuck on the butterfly stickers.

Why butterfly stickers? They seemed very Deanna and also spread your wings and fly butterfly! Am I right?

Next, I filled the box with a bunch of items they may need during their finals week.

To celebrate finals being over and to be the life of the party (pun intended), I put in a confetti popper, cracker, and mini party hat.

I put in a little notebook that says “I did my best” because they will surely be doing that during finals! Always a good reminder to not beat yourself up over things if you tried your best. Always remember at least you tried!

I put in a little card with an encouraging message…

Some pencils and hand sanitizer…

A notepad to keep track of all they have to do in the day. Some mouthwash, soap, pain reliever, a lipstick pen, highlighter, and a gift card to get themselves some pizza. Who has time to cook during finals? No one does! I figured these would all come in handy if they are at the library studying all day and night and don’t have time to go back to their rooms.

Lastly, I put the graduation cap confetti and banner inside. You can put it all inside a box and ship it off!

I’m sure who ever you gift this to in college, while they are super busy with finals will surely be super grateful and happy that they got it. It shows how much you care and are routing for them!
