Hey All!
As you all know, I recently went home to NYC and had a little non-stop ice cream party while I met with some brands and caught up with family and friends. I called it my New York Ice Cream Crawl, since I went all over Manhattan trying ice cream and Gelato! It was a fabulous time to say the least. A lot of you expressed you’d like to know where I went specifically, so you too can do your own crawl when you visit. I am happy to share that info with you all since I heart you and everyone needs ice cream all day and every day! To make it even simpler for you to do your crawl, I had my amazing designer friend Kerry LaRue draw me up this adorable map and a rating guide with addresses to each location for you. This will make it extra easy for you to do your own New York Ice Cream Crawl! You simply rate each place you try ice cream at on a scale of 1 to 5. One being the best and 5 being your least favorite, so you can remember which places you definitely want to go back to and get ice cream from again. I took a bunch a pics on my adventure, which I’m happy to share with you today. Pardon me if they aren’t the best as they are all iPhone pictures!
You can DOWNLOAD both the map the rating guide HERE. I went to a bunch of amazing ice cream and gelato shops and I also got super lucky and went to the Museum of Ice Cream! I broke it up into two days, so I wouldn’t have a sugar over dose!
I went to Grom and got some of this amazing vanilla gelato with whipped cream on top.
Down the block from grom is Pop Bar, which makes gelato on a stick! I couldn’t pass up trying it and who cares if I just had gelato. It’s an ice cream crawl right?!
That’s right folks! This is not a popsicle, it’s gelato on a stick! Mango gelato to be exact!
I practically at this gelato on a stick in like 3 bites. It was that good! And yes I bite my popsicles and gelato on a stick.
I then headed uptown to where Bloomingdales is and hit up some ice cream shops there.
The first on my dying to try was Cool Mess. I wanted to take their ice cream cart home with me!
The place is covered in sprinkles and I loved every inch of it.
There is a sign with an arrow pointing you in the direction to the entrance that says cool.
You head up the sprinkle heaven staircase and you’re in make your own ice cream heaven!
You can sit and make your own ice cream with friends which you can take home or you can get a scoop of some already made ice cream that they have. You can put it in a waffle cone or bowl from the Konery to make it even more amazing. If you sit down, the tables also have sprinkle shakers, so you can put an unlimited amount of sprinkles on your ice cream! Yes sprinkles are free!!!
And I would never take a picture of a bathroom, but theirs is beyond cute. When you go to the bathroom you see this on the wall.
When you look in the mirror you see it says looking cool! How cute is that?!!
It’s the perfect place to have an ice cream party or to just come and have some amazing ice cream fun!
While I was there I hunted down my favorite soft serve ice cream from The Mister Softee Truck! It’s kind of hard to find them now in NYC, which is sad. All these bootleg trucks have taken over the city and I’m not liking it one bit! If you find a Mister Softee truck, you need to have one of their amazing cones!
As long as you’re uptown, you have to try Serendipity 3! They have some incredible huge sundaes! My favorite is the strawberry field. I hack it though and get vanilla ice cream instead of strawberry. It’s strawberry or vanilla ice cream with a slice of cheesecake, strawberries all round, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream. It’s the best!!! I literally go there just to eat it. You need to try any of their amazing sundaes. They even have one with like 24 carat gold!
The following day was the day I was to go to the Museum of Ice Cream, which sadly closes on 9/10/2016, so if you didn’t get a ticket, you probably won’t be able to go to that. I still took a million pics which I’m sharing in a gallery at the bottom of this post, so you can see what it was like.
On the way to the Museum of Ice Cream is an amazing creamery called Ample Hills Creamery. It’s connected to the amazing restaurant Bubby’s! If it was Bubbly’s I would have died!
They make all their amazing flavors as well as cones made out of cookies right here in the shop.
They have incredible flavors like Ooey Gooey, which is everything you see below mixed together.
It was incredible and I believe their flavors of ice cream change all the time, so you definitely want to check out what flavors they will have next when you go.
I ended my ice cream crawl there as I had to come back home to LA, but I wanted to share the amazing time I had at the Museum of Ice Cream as well! They gave us samples of ice cream as well and they had everything chocolate to munch on in a chocolate room to a sprinkle pool and ice cream sandwich and ice cream scoop seesaw!
It was amazing and I’m so happy I got to go before it closed. I hope it opens in Los Angeles next or comes back to NYC next summer. Below is a gallery I put together of some fun highlights from the museum. I have photos of everything, but these are the best from the pics I got!
I hope this little printable guide helps you with your own ice cream crawl all over NYC. Have a tasty fun time printing it out and trying all this tasty ice cream! You can have ice cream all year long in my book!
If you find any other shops I should have visited be sure to let me know in the comments below!
I’m planning to do lots more crawls here in Los Angeles. We have some awesome ice cream shops here in LA as well and I did a donut crawl for my birthday, that I’m going to do again. Lots of crawls coming your way soon.
