Every time you enter a code from a specially marked package of Marie Callender’s meals or desserts on the website www.ComfortsfromHome.com, Marie Callender’s will make a donation to USO2GO, a USO program that brings electronics, sports gear, books, games, and more to troops stationed in remote locations.
I personally think this is a fantastic program as I am a woman who is married to someone who was in the military. It was a very tough time in which I needed a lot of support through.
Having a loved one in the military can be a challenging thing for not only their families, but on the soldiers themselves.
It’s great that there is a project like this that helps bring a little piece of home to those courageous soldiers who may need that small reminder that someone is thinking about them back home.
The Comforts from Home Project will also welcome one special soldier back to her/his family in a national television event “A Hero’s Welcome” airing on November 11, 2014 across a range of your favorite networks including HGTV, Food Network and the Cooking Channel. Hosted by Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible, Genevieve Gorder from HGTV Design Star and Gary Sinise, award-winning actor and founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, the show will be a heart warming event that brings the comforts of home to American troops in surprising ways that only Marie Callender’s can.
I can’t wait to check out this amazing welcome home special. I’m sure I’ll be shedding tears as I watch.
