Hey All!
Many of you know I got our dog Mr. Pink from a rescue organization. He had been returned to a local shelter multiple times by people who adopted him and was going to be put down before the rescue organization got him. He was badly injured some how and was never given the proper care he needed. We didn’t care that his back left leg did not heal right, we still wanted to bring him home as he was perfect regardless. With our adopting Mr. Pink he’s now a spoiled beautiful dog who loves to model and taste new tasty treats and dog foods.
We like to give him Rachael Ray Nutrish as a treat when we’re having a fabulous meal. Dogs deserve something amazing to eat as well!
And because we all know mealtime is better when you share it with someone you love, we’ve paired one of Rachael’s favorite recipes with a companion Nutrish recipes. I got him some Chicken Muttballs to eat since we were making a recipe I found at ChefTails.com called Chicken And Rice Meatballs.
He can enjoy some chicken muttballs and we can enjoy some chicken meatballs! Everyone is happy. This is his “open this up already will you” face.
Making sure our dogs are enjoying a snazzy meal like we are is a sentiment that Rachael Ray shares. For Rachael, food equals love — whether she’s cooking a meal for friends or working with pet nutrition experts to create delicious recipes for your furry companions. She also believes that everyone — even your dog or cat — should be able to enjoy meals made with simple natural ingredients like real meat and wholesome veggies.
Here is the recipe below so you can enjoy this meal and get yourself some Nutrish Chicken Muttballs so your dog can dine with you!
- 1 cup rice pilaf, cooled
- 1½ pounds ground chicken
- ¼ cup onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, grated
- 3 tablespoons parsley, chopped
- 1 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), for drizzling
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice with the ground chicken, onion, garlic, parsley, Parmigiano Reggiano and egg.
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Flatten out the mixture in the bowl and score it into four portions using the side of your hand.
- Shape each portion into five balls — you should have 20 meatballs in total.
- Arrange the meatballs on a nonstick sheet pan and drizzle them with EVOO.
- Place in the oven and bake until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- If they are not golden brown leave in the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes.
As you all know I love to include photos in addition to the recipe in order to give you a visual of making the recipe. Here are the photos and steps below.
Get out all your ingredients.
Combine them in a mixing bowl as directed in the recipe.
Roll your meatballs and try to make them as round as possible.
Drizzle them with the extra virgin olive oil and place them on your baking sheet pans.
When they are done they will be golden brown and ready to serve.
They are perfect to pair with a pasta or to just eat alone as a finger food.
They are flavorful and delicious! I’m so happy to have discovered a new favorite recipe for our family dinners.
As soon as I served our meatballs I open up the Nutrish Muttballs for Mr. Pink to enjoy.
We all enjoy our tasty treats as a family! It’s the perfect way to have dinner as the dogs are part of the family.
And who doesn’t love a good meatball right?! Well if you’re a meat eater that is…
