Hey All!
I’m sure you all remember how I had had the amazing experience to see an advanced preview screening of Disney’s The Descendants. I also got to meet the amazing Kenny Ortega! Kenny directed this fantastic new Disney Channel Original Movie. It’s now on DVD and I’m super excited because we loved the film. In case you didn’t catch it when it aired on Disney Channel, Disney’s The Descendants takes place in a world where the Disney heroes have triumphed years prior and all of the villains have been banished to an inescapable island where magic is blocked. The story follows the children of some of the most notorious Disney villains: Cruella De Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson from television’s The Game), Jafar (comedian Maz Jobrani), The Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy from the Sister Act films) and Maleficent (Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristen Chenoweth). Their children have been raised on this island and because the parents are evil the children only know how to be evil.
The children of these legendary villains are played by Dove Cameron (TV’s “Liv & Maddie”) as Mal the daughter of Maleficent, Sofia Carson (Faking It) is Evie the daughter of The Evil Queen, Cameron Boyce is Carlos (Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2), the son of Cruella De Vil, and Booboo Stewart (“X-Men Days of Future Past,” “Twilight”) as Jay the son of Jafar. Across the way in the kingdom of Auradon, the son of Beauty and the Beast is about to be crowned king and, as his first royal decree, states that 4 children from the island will come to live and be schooled at the same prep school as the children of the Disney heroes. Prince Ben believes that because they are children they deserve a second chance at life for the opportunity to be good citizens. The story is so much musical fun from there.
We’re so excited to have our copy so we can watch this colorful entertaining musical when ever we want!
The Descendants is a musical with both singing and dancing to original music. Like High School Musical. You’ll be finding yourself rewinding so your kids can sing along to the DVD.
Disney’s Descendants is great for Disney fans of all ages. We truly enjoy it and I’m sure you will too!
