Hey All!
With the New Year in full swing, I’ve been thinking about my goals for the year and all those resolutions I’m planning to conquer this year. I thought I would take the opportunity to share my week 1 resolution priorities with you today. The biggest resolution I’m making is to take better care of myself and that includes getting better sleep. I don’t get enough sleep because sometimes I’m working 24 hours a day on this blog. It’s insane and it always affects my energy, my attitude, and how my day goes. When I don’t get enough sleep, I know I can’t be as productive and creative as I can be. The lack of sleep has been bringing me down in 2015 and I’m not going to let it bring me down in 2016.
I’ve come up with a came plan on how I conquer my battle with getting a great night’s rest and I know it’s going to help me bring my A-game to you here on the blog in 2016. I’m starting the first week of January and I thought I would share this plan with you all today. They are more like tips and tricks for prioritizing sleep. If you’re planning on taking on new challenges in the new year, whether it’s a new job, a new hobby, or a stressful event to plan, you’ll need all the sleep you can get so you can have the energy to give it everything you’ve got!
Ok, now on to the breaking down of my tools/tips. My first tip/tool is a little bit of a cheat because it is a sleep-aid. I’m going to use ZzzQuil when I occasionally can’t sleep because it helps you bring your A-game, by amping up your zzz-game. ZzzQuil is a non-habit forming sleep-aid that’s not for pain, just for sleep. For me, sleep is essential – it makes me feel more productive and excited for the day. ZzzQuil helps me get some amazing sleep!
You know those moments when you find yourself wide-awake at night and you can’t get to sleep. It’s the worst! On those occasional nights when I’m experiencing that, I take ZzzQuil when I know I have enough time to get my normal amount of sleep. It helps me fall asleep easily, sleep soundly and wake refreshed.
The New Year brings new priorities, and sleep is mine. I make sure to get my full night’s rest, and for those nights where I just cannot fall asleep, I make sure to have ZzzQuil on hand.
My second tip/tool is, find a perfect pair of pajamas that you love and that are super comfortable. I found these breakfast pajamas and I’m legit in love with them. I paired them with some ice cream themed socks and they keep me warn and comfortable all day. I would seriously wear these every day if I could. Heck, I would wear them outside if I could! I never want to take these off and I’m probably going to live in them that first week of January. They are the cutest pajamas ever and I not only love the way they feel on, I love the way they look. Having them on makes me feel happy and that does wonders for me sleep.
My third tip is make your bed some place you want to be. I’ve turned my bed into a tasty treats themed bed and there is nothing I love more than my tasty treats.
When I’m surrounded by donuts, ice cream, and s’mores, I’m in heaven. I never want to get out of bed. I love to snuggle up to all my pillows when my hubby is not around and it’s so comfortable. I’m going to get the best sleep ever in this bed now.
My last and final tip is, GET RID OF THE STRESS before bed! Stress was the number one thing keeping me from getting a good night sleep. I realized being a procrastinator was causing a lot of this stress. In 2016, I’m done with procrastination! I’ve got myself a planner and I’m planning out my whole year. I’m scheduling work, gym times, break time, and more to take care of myself while staying on schedule.
I’m also doing things like treating myself to little rewards. For example, I treated myself to a new “&” bag for doing great work in 2015. I’m going to treat myself more often in 2016 when I do amazing work to reward myself. I’m going to chew on some lavender candies because lavender calms me down. I’m going to remember to laugh more and that unicorn you see above poos sprinkles. That will surely help me laugh every time I see it week one. I’m also going to sip cocktails in a disco ball sippy cup. Because… why not! Disco ball sippy cups are amazing and everyone can use a cocktail every so often! I’m vowing to start 2016 by doing one nice thing for myself every other week that makes me happy, which will help me sleep better and feel better.
To sum it up: Happiness, Making myself feel good at home, No Stress and some ZzzQuil are my keys to starting off 2016 with better sleep!

First of all, that bedding and those pillows are too cute! I think it would drive my sweet tooth crazy though haha. I have heard great things about ZzzQuil, but haven’t tried it. I love their cold/flu products though, so I should get some for my sleepless nights.

De-stressing before bed is the hardest and most important thing for me to do to get better sleep. I don’t sleep well at all if I am stressed.
I agree that being relaxed and comfortable are crucial for a restful night. I am the type that struggles with anything less than 8hrs of sleep each night.
I love my sleep but don’t think I get enough. I will have to look for some ZzzQuil to have on hand when I have trouble falling asleep.
I think you have great plan for the new year. I have to work on getting my schedules back on track this year.
