The Best Place To Dine During Comic Con 2018!

Hey All!

We’re here at San Diego Comic Con and during our time here we were invited to check out the amazing restaurant Primavera Restaurante! It’s located at 932 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118 and it is an ideal location for attendees of the San Diego Comic Con who want to have a sit down meal and really get away from the chaos that engulfs all of downtown San Diego.

It’s less than a 15 minute drive from the Convention Center, and even closer for those attendees that booked a hotel in Coronado. Primavera Restaurante provides everything needed for “escape.” While the restaurant is clearly Italian Fine Dining, for Comic Con this year they are celebrating by introducing a few specials that are themed for the Con.

The first dish we tried from the Comic Con menu was the “Mario Marsala.” Named after pop culture’s most famous Italian (Super Mario) the entree is a lightly breaded chicken breast cooked in Sicilian Marsala Wine with cremini mushrooms that does not disappoint. ($28)

We also tried the “Princess Peach Bellini” cocktail named after the famous Princess Peach (also from Super Mario) and is made with Prosecco and a sliced peach. A fun drink that actually pairs very well with the “Mario Marsala.”($12)

Finally we tried the “Super Mario Meatball.” This is a delicious large meatball which is a house made pork and beef and meatball topped with creamy ricotta and served with house made marinara and basil crisps ($12).

We had it with a small side of pasta, because I can not have a meatball with out pasta. That’s just me!

Besides these fun Comic Con themed dishes, they offer a variety of amazing Italian dishes and desserts to choose from. You can check out their full menu HERE.  We had an amazing time and our thanks to all the amazing staff and the chef who even came out to great us. We always love when that happens! The restaurant itself is lovely and sets the perfect relaxing atmosphere.

It’s the perfect meal and 15 minute getaway from the crazy that is downtown San Diego at the moment. If you’re looking for some amazing food and some quiet time during Comic Con head over to the Primavera Restaurante!
