Cute and easy to make DIY Saint Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Trap!
Hey All!
It’s been a Saint Patrick’s Day tradition to make a Leprechaun Trap. I’ve been doing this even before my bubbly boy arrived. I’m thrilled he loves making these as much as I do. I didn’t have a lot of time to put one together this year, but I came up with this cute and Easy DIY Leprechaun Trap. I just had to share it with you all today!
I think it came out super cute and it combines a little treat hidden inside for the kids. I took the milk and cookies concept for Santa and kind of twisted it for this.
See how I made it below. I got everything almost entirely from Target and I used stuff I had in my craft supplies. You can easily throw this together with what ever you have.
Got almost all of it from Target and you can do drive up pick up to get it all today!
- Gold Rolo Candies
- Shamrock Cookies
- Gold Chocolate Coins
- Gold Straws
- Gold Glitter Cardstock
- Gold Tissue Paper
- Lucky Charms
- Lucky Charms Marshmallows
- Paper Plate
- Tin Container
- Scissors
- Mini Rainbow Piñata
- Hot Glue Gun
- Cricut Cutting Machine
- Green Cardstock
First I filled a tin storage box with gold tissue paper.
I placed some shamrock cookies that I got from Target inside. This is for the leprechaun and my son to munch on for Saint Patrick’s day.
I added some Lucky Charms Marshmallows…
And lastly some Lucky Charms Cereal and Gold Rolo candies.
I cut a hole out of a paper plate and put it on top. This is where the leprechaun will fall inside the trap.
I cut out a shamrock by hand out of some green cardstock. Your kids can help cut these out.
Place the shamrock over the hole to cover the trap.
I used my cricut cutting machine to cut out the words GOLD in gold glitter paper and glued it onto this mini rainbow piñata. You can try to cut the letters out yourself or get some gold sticker letters. That will work too. You can also just write “gold here” on some paper and stick it onto the rainbow. All would work!
I then cut up one gold straw and hot glued the pieces to two straws to make the ladder.
I put the gold chocolate coins, Rolos, Lucky Charms marshmallows on and around the trap to lure the leprechaun to the trap.
I placed it on top of our decorated mantle.
It makes a fun little decoration and a fun surprise for kids to enjoy on Saint Patrick’s Day.
I love how it turned out. Super simple and won’t take you long to do!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do for Saint Patrick’s Day! Have an amazing Saint Patrick’s Day!
