Hey Everyone!
I’m beyond happy to announce I’m a Small Business Saturday Ambassador and I’m proud to say that I live in a city surrounded with tons of small businesses that I love in our neighborhood. We have shops called Rocket Fizz(A candy store), Handmade (sells handmade products of all kinds), Big Sugar Bake Shop, Maxwell Dog (my favorite pet shop), and Earth 2 Comics (our go to comic shop) which are all staples that we visit every other week to shop! With the holiday shopping season coming up, we love to find amazing gifts and treats for our family and friends as in a small business you find something unique and personal that you can’t find at larger more well known businesses. It’s so important to remember small businesses when you’re shopping this Holiday Season as they are so important to the economy. If you didn’t know there’s even a shopping day called Small Business Saturday, which is taking place November 24th and I do a ton of shopping on that day since I love Small Business Saturday! The shops often do special promotions for that day so you’d want to get out and shop!
I identify with small businesses as I do consider The Queen of Swag to be a small business. I work with many brands on promotional campaigns and it is a source of income for my family. I don’t sell any physical items, well I may venture into the cookie business one day since I love to bake and I feel you would all love my cookies, but I do consider the work I do on this blog to help all my readers win the best products or learn about the best products and events work.
I encourage you to support Small Business Saturday as I do and get out there and support your community’s local businesses. This is there biggest day of the year. It’s a day dedicated to them and they need customers in order to flourish. I encourage you to love over those holiday gift lists this year and research to see if your local small business may sell the same products as a larger retailer would. But when you shop at a small business you may have the opportunity to meet the owners (as most work in their own stores) and you work out even better deal than you would find in a huge retailer.
That’s the case for my favorite bakery Big Sugar Bake Shop! The owners are two women baking away in the kitchen by 5 am every day and they always give me free treats when I go with the family! It’s empowering to see two successful women thriving at doing something they love and sharing it through their small business. I try to take that same mentality with my own work and this blog which are my passions and my small business.
I also find you always get such a homey feeling in smaller businesses and better customer service. You can actually get to know the people who own and work at small businesses. It’s definitely a more personal experience! The best thing about living where we live in Los Angeles is the fact that we have the ability to walk to so many small and amazing businesses! It’s a rare thing in Los Angeles and I highly encourage you to get out and check out the small businesses in your community on Small Business Saturday!
Will you join me on Saturday, November 24th and “shop small” ? And if you plan to shop, Where do you plan to shop?
