You know I’m all about the Halloween treats and one of my go to easy treats to make are some cupcakes. I figured why not give some of my plain cupcakes a fun Halloween makeover! Who doesn’t love swirled frosting? I know I do, especially when it’s Halloween themed! These are so fun and easy to make. You can use store bought ready to bake ingredients or use what ever you may have at home to make these! They are inexpensive to make and super tasty. No matter how they turn out or what ingredients you use, all that matters is if they taste yummy!

Halloween sprinkle mixture :
4 packages of Wilton 3 oz Halloween Pumpkin Sprinkle mix
Chocolate Cupcakes Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix
Ingredients as listed on the back of the cake mix box
Muffin pan
cupcake liners
Vanilla Frosting Ingredients:
3 Cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
6 Cup powdered sugar
5-7 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3-5 drops of black gel food coloring
2-4 drops of orange gel food coloring
1 disposable piping bag with medium star tip
1 medium ice cream scooper
3 Cups of the halloween sprinkles
First you preheat oven as per directions on the box. Put the liners in the muffin pan. Set aside. Following the directions add ingredients. Mix all ingredients as instructed.Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Put in the oven and bake for 22 minutes. Check to make sure they are done by inserting a toothpick into the center of a cupcake, it should come out clean. If they are not done, check again every three minutes until they are done. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Directions :
Using a standing mixer combine the butter, powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and mix on medium speed until combined and smooth. Set aside 1/2 Cup of frosting in 1 bowl and mix until combined with a few drops of the orange gel food coloring.
Set aside another 1/2 Cup of frosting in the 2nd bowl and leave this one white. Scoop the orange frosting onto one side of the piping bag. Scoop the white frosting onto the second side of the piping bag and set aside. Beat in the black gel food coloring into the remaining frosting
Decorating Directions :
Using the black frosting, scoop a small amount into the ice cream scooper and place onto the top of the cupcake and spread slightly into a thick disk.
Pour the Halloween sprinkles into a deep bowl Dip the top of the cupcake frosting into the sprinkles. Using the piping bag, pipe the orange and white frosting onto the top of the sprinkles.
