Hocus Pocus Spell Book Sheet Cake!

Looking for the perfect easy, spooky and nostalgic cake to make for Halloween? Check out this fun Hocus Pocus Spell Book Sheet Cake! It’s inspired by the film Hocus Pocus!

Hey All!

Happy start of Halloween Month! Have you started watching the 31 Nights of Halloween on Freeform? I have and I can’t wait to watch Hocus Pocus non-stop all month long! To celebrate my Hocus Pocus binge fest that I have planned, I decided to make this fun and easy to make Hocus Pocus Spell Book Sheet Cake! I’ll be enjoying it as I watch this year and I hope you like the idea enough to enjoy it while you watch as well!

It’s honestly reallllly easy to make and it didn’t take me long to make. An hour max for the whole process. I also used items I had around my kitchen, which made it all the more easy for me to make. No need to go overboard when you’re making your tasty treats at home. No one likes to spend a ton of time slaving away in the kitchen! I know I do! Just like to Creep It Real Folks! LOL!

I love to make easy recipes with stuff I already have in my pantry. I’m thrilled I thought of this fun idea I could quickly throw together.

Here is how to make it!

First you preheat your oven to 305 degrees. You then grease and line your sheet cake pan, so your cake doesn’t stick to the pan. You then mix and bake your chocolate cake according to the cake mix box instructions. Let the cake completely cool and then ice with your chocolate frosting using an offset spatula. You can use store bought or make your own chocolate frosting. You then take your white frosting and add the tiniest drop of black food coloring to it.  I’m talking like tiny drop! Mix it until it turns gray. This makes the gray frosting color you need for the book accents.

Place your now gray frosting in a pipping bag with pipping tip and coupler. Place pipping tip and coupler on your black icing tube. Place White Frosting in a pipping bag with pipping tip and coupler. Place Chocolate Frosting in a pipping bag with pipping tip and coupler.

You then pipe on the snake binding and corner decorations.

Next you use your white frosting to pipe on a circle.

Place your one vibrant green chocolate melt in the center and pipe on the pupil with your black icing. Next pipe on some eye lids with your chocolate icing. Next pipe on a circle around the eye with your gray frosting.

Lastly you use your black icing to pipe on the snake eyes and black sticking.

You then put a little black cat at the bottom of the cake. It’s my little nod to Thackery Binx and it’s kind of like a hidden Mickey!

I know the book doesn’t have a cat on it! I just wanted a little Binx on my cake!

That’s it! You’re done! This cake is super easy to make and it doesn’t have to be perfect to still be amazing and cute!

The cake baking is what takes the longest. The decorating probably took me 15-20 minutes max to do! Super easy! I free handed piping all this on. I wanted to solely use mainly frosting on this cake. The only non-frosting item on this cake is the green candy melt!

Hope you love this fun and easy to make spooky sheet cake just as much as I do! Every time I see it I just want to scream BOOOOOOK! I can’t wait to watch Hocus Pocus on Freeform for the 31 Nights of Halloween! Who else is watching? Let me know in the comments below!

Also you can play this fun Hocus Pocus Game and enjoy the cake as well!

Be sure to make this spooky cake to enjoy as you watch!
